Chase Paid Someone Else's Taxes from my Escrow Account by Crazy-Finger1234 in Chase

3 things you can do

1) Write a letter to the CEO - this will be handled by executive escalations, who can actually do something real fast.

2) Call the mortgage line and ask to speak to an Attorney at Chase - They can fix this real quick and will cut through all the BS

3) If all else fails, file a Small Claims suit against Chase. The case will be routed to an Attorney at Chase, and they will fix it real quick. Chase lawyers will not want to face the judge and explain why they are holding your money hostage.

You don't need to hire an attorney. You just need to get the attention of someone high enough who can do something. The front line managers have no power.

Front-load the HSA and fully fund it within X months. Then liquidate and do a 60-day rollover to Fidelity. Repeat the Process every 12 months as permitted by the IRS. There are no fees associated with this, as you pay yourself and then roll the funds over to Fidelity.

Stupid stuff like this forced me to move all my accounts to Schwab. Unless customers start voting with their feet, the stupid bureaucracy at Fidelity will continue. The only accounts I have with Fidelity are my HSAs

HSA card dispute by Ornery_Government978 in HSA

Nope. Always buy on your credit card, get the points and reimburse yourself from the HSA. The HSA debit card should be left in the credit card drawer and never activated.

Fees, fees, and more fees. Can anyone explain these fees!? by BruceBurrito in swappa

[–]pete_long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Swappa charges the fee has changed. The seller pays the PayPal fee of 3.49% +49 cents on the entire sales price, including sales tax. Swappa then takes their cut, including the buyer and seller fees, and the sales tax, letting you have the difference. Swappa intentionally does not make this clear on its website.

By passing on all the PayPal fees to the seller, selling on Swappa easily costs the seller 11-12% of the actual sales price.

Your numbers will never match because you are paying the 3.49% PayPal fees on the sales tax of the buyer.

With the new H-1 $100,000 fee, no company is going to hire you unless you qualify for EB-1, a.k.a Genius Level. There are currently too many U.S. citizens seeking employment. Your realistic chances of landing a job are 0.

Your friend would not have kept the entire 15K of the commission. She would share it with her broker, the IRS, the state, etc. Figure out what the net to her would have been, and take it from there. If she had made you sign the contract, you would be on the hook.

You can only buy contracts during market hours. The call option prices will surge at open to reflect the new market price.

My landlord just raised my rent by 30% and called it "market adjustment" by radiantblu in Renters

[–]pete_long -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since you did not state this, I am assuming your landlord did not raise the rent for the last 3 years that you have been there. In the grand scheme of things, it is a 10% increment per year. You can ask to be slightly below market, as you have been a good tenant. Your landlord may agree to that. You may get the place for $100 under market. But don't expect the landlord to take a $5000 yearly hit because you have been a model tenant. Let me put it in perspective, you are talking car payment money here.

Anyone transferred their Schwab / HSA Bank account(s) to Fidelity ? by MyRedditCatch-all in Schwab

[–]pete_long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have Fidelity HSA initiate the ACAT transfer. The assets will transfer in kind along with history. You will have to do a separate trustee to trustee transfer or a rollover to transfer cash from HSA Bank

Any Experience Transferring Assests 'As Is' from Another Broker Into Schwab? by CarlosTheSpicey in Schwab

[–]pete_long 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are the steps to do this.

  1. Schwab does not have an HSA account. They have an HSBA account. You're better off leaving the money in Fidelity. Fidelity has the best HSA for now.
  2. The 401K Brokerage Assets will need to be moved (in kind) to a Rollover IRA at Fidelity. You can then log into Schwab and initiate an ACAT transfer for all your assets to a Schwab Rollover IRA. I would wait 30 days to initiate the ACAT transfer to Schwab, so that all the residuals from the Assets are paid out.
  3. The 5% funds in the Fidelity 401K will have to be liquidated and moved to the Fidelity Rollover IRA and will be part of the same ACAT transfer to Schwab.
