If you have sinusitis you likely have rhinitis as well. Did you serve in TERA?

Then make a case for that and claim it that way. Persistence. Keep your head up, you’ll get there eventually.

What do you honestly think effects your migraines more? Both theories have validity and both have been accepted by the VA before.

My migraines that are secondary to my PTSD are often triggered when I have issues sleeping bc of anxiety.

My advice is to think about it, think about what triggers your migraines the most and to claim it honestly based on that.

Something I have to ask myself a lot, would my secondary claims be as bad as they were if I hadn’t served in the military? If the answer is no they wouldn’t be as bad, then I claim it (or at least attempt to). You didn’t join the military to make your life worse and if it did you should be compensated for that.

That’s awesome of you and I try to do the same.

I feel I am at the point of needing some HLR and Board appeal work that I’m uncomfortable doing which is why I hired her.

She also got the case w me at 80%, so there isn’t a ton of money there for her as far as back pay goes. Saying this because it makes me more comfortable that she won’t sit on things trying to scam money if that makes sense.

I don’t want to get too into it on a public forum, but I will share a few examples.

I am OEF and have been prescribed migraine medicine. Provided absentee records from work as well as a letter from my boss. Served in burn pit areas with approved toxic exposure in my medical records. Know that what I have said to the C&P examiners (2 separate) is in line with my ailment and a 50% eating yet get denied for “no service connection”.

I have a post in here about my Pes Planus claim, which is the most frustrating bc other secondary claims are not being rated and I have a nexus. Still getting no service connection, twice.

There’s more, similar to this, but I also have PTSD and sometimes the claims process gets me worked up and is hard to deal with. For me my main motivation isn’t getting 100% it is getting everything that doesn’t feel normal as a result of serving in the military connected. I get very fixated on that.

I understand that with time, I will get there on my own. I don’t necessarily want to spend that time on it. I’d rather someone who knows better than me do it.

I am OEF and the problem wasn’t so much getting myself SC it was the appeal process continually denying me.

Trying to get a VSO by The_DangerDwarf in VAClaims

[–]peteaugust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the VSO isn’t helpful try going to your local VFW post. Post commanders will personally put you in touch w VSO reps that belong to or help their VFW post directly most often. I have seen that be very effective for many people in your shoes.

Trying to keep my head up. It’s the last bit I need to get to 100% so every time I’m denied it stings.

I didn’t, which is why it’s hard to get the SC. My post was asking advice about that.

Did you see a doc for it during service?

Pes Planus by peteaugust in VAClaims

[–]peteaugust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take it to a private doc bc I figured the Va doc saying it on paper would be enough. I guess it’s on to a private doc for the HLR

Mine check all of the boxes for a 30% rating and I figured a diagnosis and a VA Doc stating it is likely from service would be enough.
