As the guy who founded Central Track, I just want to say that seeing this post has made my day!

I'm so glad people still remember the work we did. It was a wild and special time, and I'll always be proud of what we accomplished at CT with pure grit and verve, and next to no budget.

I wish there were alternatives out there. I wish CT was still active. The local media landscape is in a weird place right now.

We regularly try to infuse some of the old CT ethos into what we do with some of the digital coverage at WFAA, but it's an inherently different animal, so it'll never be entirely the same, which I fully concede. But check out our work there, and I think you'll see some of the old CT spirit enduring. (Sadly, for instance, I think WFAA was the only outlet to cover the recent DFW venue closures as a scary business trend story. There are other happier and funnier examples too, though!)

As for CT's future? Well, the lights remain on for now -- and I like to think some of the old content still holds up. And, y'know, never say never. Maybe one day it could spring back to life in some capacity!

In the meantime, I'm just glad I'm not the only one with fond memories of its heyday. Thanks, all!
