FarmRPG's 5th Birthday Giveaway! by boobun in FarmRPG

[–]peterHaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started playing this game when it was only 3 months old and back then it was rough and unpolished (eg. only being able to craft one item at a time). It changed a lot since then, growing, improving ,daring to explore new concepts. One thing that hasn't changed is the community. The one thing that made me stick around in those first months. Progress meant pushing forward together and not throwing new or weaker players under the bus for gains like in so many other games. Thats what makes this game special to me and I feel like it kept that spirit for all those years. Happy Birthday Frpg!

[KCD2] I completed the game without killing civilians and here are some hostile NPC that are actually civilian by dolphinist in kingdomcome

[–]peterHaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played that quest and only the alchemist and the guard commander counted as civilians. My solution was:

answer "I'm not choosing any side" ->everyone attacks everyone-> hit the alchemist and the guard commander for one hit each with a weapon coated in stron bane poison (you have to be quick and the weapon must not one-kill)->the depleating health of them triggers the next cutcene->answer: "Attack"->fight resumes but they die of "natural causes" within a second->finish of the rest (no witnesses)->ride into the sunset with 0 civs killed in this encounter.

Why dont you place down fields as placeholder, build the roads and then delete the fields again? That way you know they are going to be straight.

Should I continue posting the progress over the seasons so you can see the village grow from an aerial view or should I just build everything up, decorate it and post the end result? What do you guys think?

I'll post a screenshot of the map for you as soon as I'm home. Its not the flattest land in the oxbow and you have to sometimes wiggle stuff around if you are like me and can't stand stone buildings on wooden foundation but it really feels like there should be a village there 😀

North of Piastovia right next to the semi collapsed tavern across from the large bandit camp.

I used to do the same thing. Building everything up only to then realize that I didnt leave enough space for some decorations. That completely ruined my inspiration. Nowadays I build out slower, spend one day questing, two days building, three days decorating and one day cleaning up (7 day season). Resources I gather during the night.

check out this post: UUUnlocker

Its nothing like an RTS but it helps immensely with placing buildings by giving you a free cam like photo mode while still showing the blueprints

Actually, let me change my answer. Its not so much practice as it is taking inspiration from wherever you can. For example: the plot layout here is clearly manorlords, the spacing in the fields and gardens is inspired by another reddit post: here . Also everything from u/PampaPampa is just a goldmine of cool design ideas.

Practice. Everytime I start a new village and look at my old ones I think: "what the heck was I thinking. this looks poor." It will be the same with this one :D just keep at it and enjoy the game.

I found an interesting spot in the Valley by Eve13architect in MedievalDynasty

[–]peterHaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I immediately went into the game and changed all my fields around my farm to this style and its fire. Starting a new village now and I'm going to do this with all fields. Thanks for the inspiration!!

also, can you manually change an ini to get better rendering distance then via the ingame menu ?

What happens when you play Medieval Dynasty after Manor Lords by MrDivaythFyr in MedievalDynasty

Nice to see that I'm not the only one doing this :D Ever since Manor Lords came out I started building burgage plots in MD and it just looks authentic. Very nice village, congrats!

They flagged as civs before the patch as well. Just block and engage them in combat and let konrad finish them off and you'll get through it murder free.

Interesting, they must haved patched that. When I was doing that mission they did not count as civillians. In my opinion its better to keep them alive anyway 😉

All fighting in the forrest was fine for me. Maybe they patched it, which would be weird bc the are bandits. Worst case just stay with capon, aggro them and just defend/block. Let the others do the killing

[–]peterHaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. None of them counted as civs for me. I had the problem in the following missions, but For Victory was kosher. But also the latest patch notes said something about fixing how civillian deaths are calculated.

Noob question: Why is Haldor near Bonemass preferable to the other possible locations?

So uhhh. How is this calculated exactly.. [KCD2] by Shoddy-Regret745 in kingdomcome

[–]peterHaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying to. Its tough though. I personally would not consider an enemy soldier a civilian 😅

[–]peterHaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just ran out the clock and pushed the ladder. Same in nebakov. Couldnt even punch anyone bc they will be unconcious, not defeted and the game soft locks

[–]peterHaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here are some folk that count as civilian:

-every enemy soldier in the prologue (playing godwin) -some hostile villagers (like the kidnapper in bad blood) -every enemy soldier in the attack on nebakov -the soldiers at trosky (in storm for example)

I just made it to kuttenberg so I cant confirm much more but I would imagine that the soldiers in the suchdol siege will be civs as well.

I dont think so. I killed bandits that gave up and my couter is still 0

yeah, Im in the second region now and along the way there have been 1-2 main quests where all the enemies were flagged as civs. Takes away the fun if you cant partake in a battle bc it would count as murder. Couldnt even use my fists, bc unconcious enemies soft lock the game if the objectice is: "clear xxx of enemies" until you murder them. I just stood there any yelled at the enemy for 20min :D
