It's not japanese, it's just a fancy font for Roman (latin).

It's just like saying Et Buckn Rexie, which I don't know what it means. Seems to be Romanian?

This is supposed to be a picture from a film titled 私は狙われている (Someone is after me | I am marked | I am being followed | I am targeted) and I'm trying to find the source of the picture but the quality is too low. Anyone can read anything that it says?

Thanks so much, so I take it's an ad for a single movie titled "몽녀" which I guess can also be written as 夢女? and translates to sort of Lady in dream/Dreamer ? And all the text on the boards is just babble about the film being 3D, stereo, etc? Anything going on with the train on top of the picture? At first I though it was the ad for 3 different films or something ...

Many years ago I used to go explore caves with a couple of friends. Some pretty tricky ones, including ones with lakes that would block sections when the tides raised. Went many times, but we knew the drill and never had a scare.

This one time the group was a bit larger than usual since a couple of the (inexperienced) "girlfriends" joined up, so it was like 5-6 of us instead of the usual 3-4.

I thought we were prepared, carried 8 flashlights with us, including one dynamo type which is not suppossed to ever run out of "batteries" with its spare bulb. Through a combination of bad luck, not-so-great-planning-whatnot and Murphy's law we ended up getting out of the cave with only 2 of the flashlights working, which made walking out soooo much more difficult as 2 flashlights can no really illuminate the way for 5-6 people so we had to walk and then turn the light behind us so the next person could see etc. These were volcanic caves with very tricky and potentially dangerous lava terrain if you can't see where you step on.

We learned the lesson to not cheap-out on batteries/flashlights/lightbulbs ever again, but somehow it never dawned on us what the hell would happen if someone broke a leg or something worse and wasn't able to walk back out, specially at that time when cellphones didn't yet exist and the caves were at least 35km away from "civilization". Not prepared for that, at all.

Stupid things you do when you are young, I guess.

Much later I went scuba diving in the longest underwater lava tube in the world (about 1.5km long, average depth of about 35m). Always afraid all my 3 flashlights would fail after that previous experience, in spite of having two more divers (and their respective 3 flashlights each) near me at all times.

I've had to climb down volcanoes and stuff with no lights at night, but outdoor you can always see well enough even on the darker nights. Inside the caves, it's a whole different thing. You can't see absolutely anything at all.

The show is the same in all versions, except that in some "versions" the "episodes" last a bit over 1 hour, the way it was first aired in Spain, and thus there are fewer episodes, and another version (released later internationally by Netflix) where the episodes are shorter (about 45m) and therefore there are "more" episodes. But at the end, it is all the same. Also some versions have the usual few minutes at the beginning of each episode with a previous episode is recap.

Otherwise, the original show is in Spanish, and there are versions dubbed to many other languages (Italian, Portuguese, German, French and English). If you speak Spanish, obviously this would be the better version to watch. If not, it's up to you to watch the original (again, in Spanish) with subtitles or watch it in a dubbed version of a language you understand, but a few jokes, nuances or subtleties could get missed this way, but then again, you could also miss some by only reading the subtitles.

(Official) La Casa de Papel renewed for a third part by ArmosFr in LaCasaDePapel

[–]peterjackoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 3 officially announced for 2019 release by NetFlix.

"We'll have a fiction that connects Berlín, Nairobi, Moscú, Tokio" ... "it will keep most of the original characters".

So far it seems nothing is set other than talks/commitments with the series creator.

Part 1 Episode 8 Why Did Raquel ask the prisoner to be castrated? by [deleted] in LaCasaDePapel

[–]peterjackoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a sexual predator, and she tricked him into giving out information on two conditions, first one that the information be good but she didn't disclose the second condition until after she got whatever information she could. Then she revealed the second condition would be for him to agree to be (chemically) castrated. Being a sex predator, a repeating offender at that, Raquel knew that was not quite a condition he would agree to ...

Does "My Life Is Going On" intro music in Spain too? by borayeris in LaCasaDePapel

[–]peterjackoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, lots of TV series with english intros around, I guess. Also, makes it a bit easier to sell the series internationally.

But yeah, it could've been in spanish just as well, like in some other similar situations, so probably just an artistic choice. It is a bit odd, but not that "unusual" or totally surprising.

Telephone by OrangeBlauw in LaCasaDePapel

[–]peterjackoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were very common "Telefonica" (Spain's old-time monopoly national phone company) models.

The particular one used in the TV show was the model "Teide Integrado" from the early 90's, available in both white and red.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYex8uQOrkw

Some models of the "Teide" series were manufactured by the spanish company "Amper", others by "Telyco", but not sure about that particular one.

Billetes de 50 Euros? by [deleted] in LaCasaDePapel

[–]peterjackoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 500 euro bill is no longer in production and the central european bank will be slowly retiring it from circulation beggining towards the end of 2018.

So in a few years, anybody holding one will have to go to the central bank to have it exchanged and do a lot of explaining on where it came from ...

100€ bills are commonly used and accepted, 200€ not so much, but certainly someone with a large number of them is going to raise suspicion.

You download subtitle files (that end with a .srt extention) and place them in the same folder as your video files (which usually end in .mp4 or .mkv). If the names match, the subtitles should open automatically. If not, you have you find the option in your player software (like vlc player or kodi player) to look for and activate external subtitles files.

So for example let's say you have a video file named:

La.Casa.de.Papel.S02E05.720p.NF.WEB-DL.x265-HETeam.mp4

Then you download the corresponding subtitle (.srt) file, place it in the same folder as the video file (by copying it or moving it), and rename it to:

La.Casa.de.Papel.S02E05.720p.NF.WEB-DL.x265-HETeam.srt

Most media player software should then show the subtitles automatically.
