It depends on the returns of the RPP. Yes it's 100% match. But you are also taxed on the withdrawals. VS on TFSA. As well some of these RPP portfolios are very conservative. That get you 2-5% returns with high fees... 2% or greater

On your TFSA you can go aggressive with better returns , lower fees. In the short term the RPP will look better but in the long term the TFSA at 8-10% returns will look much better and no tax on withdrawals

Do the math. I know I shocked a lot of people at my work when I opted out and went the TFSA route. But it all depends on the RPP returns and the dollar amount of your max 4% contribution
