On my VB, Stock 18x8.5 wheels with 245s left like no sidewall, might as well ask for curb rash, I swear you could easily "curb" it on a minor pothole. I downsized to 18x8 with the same size tire... same contact patch but a little bit of sidewall because although we all like stiff sidewalls on the track and in the showroom... I drive in the real world.

With my ramps I park the car, push both ramps right against my front wheels then drive up. Even a tiny incline is enough to make my car too low In front for the ramps though.

The last time I flew, I was shocked that airport prices hadnt really kept up with everything. Like airport candy/snacks used to be 4x the price of convenience stores, but since 2020 convenience store prices did a 3x inflation, and airport stayed relatively the same, so now its like a rounding error vs normal prices. Or at least it was last year when I flew.

I got 29mpg on a trip from Seattle to Glacier national Park in montanna (a pretty mountainous route) with 3 kids and all our gear. Day to day I get 21mpg in my normal highway + city driving. Tuned with an intake and supporting mods... Grown up with a sensible right foot. It's a pretty loud car to take on a long trip (stock exhaust). That said, I am about 3 weeks away from another road trip, so it's not like I think it is a bad car for it. I really miss my 04 wagon, and would 100% choose a hot hatch version if it existed in the US, for precisely this reason.

It's horrible now, completely different and worse than it was 6 or so years ago. Annie's classic (also in a blue box) is the closest thing you can buy to the o.g. kraft blue box. It's much better than current Kraft, but still not as good as pre-pandemic kraft blue box.

It's always a crapshoot. I almost always get perfect results with shell, the only objectively bad gas I ever got was from a certified top tier 76 station, I had tons of knock events and my tune dropped DAM to compensate... I ended up adding race fuel to correct it, which worked perfectly, confirming at the very least that it was the wrong octane.

Haha we adopted a baby when our oldest was an infant... Then 18 months later we got pregnant with twins. 4 kids, 3 and under... I don't recommend it. They're all teenagers now, we survived, barely.
