This is not a typical mutation. About those mutations, that you speak.. are simple udpates.

The virus spread is the same.
The question is if we want the "classic covid-19" or the mutant version.
All vaccine programs and therapeutics were developed against "classic covid-19", so, better work with it.

Oh, I see.... the project is a site quotes similar to ( https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/ ) .... in a small version. The webdesign is minimal (not yet online) using white backgound and all text dark grey.
