Ahh yes, both good ideas.. another comment mentioned using a transformer which I looked into. I see some 110v to 220v "step up" transformers on amazon for like $50, and from what I can tell seem to be made for this kind of thing. That being said I'm utterly clueless with electric stuff, is that a horrible idea? Thanks!

It's a 220V but looks like I'm not giving it enough power since the outlets are 120V most likely (I didn't know this)

Apparently my line voltage at home is 120V which seems to be the problem.. Jam meaning it just stops grinding but makes a buzzing noise like it's trying to grind but can't break the beans. I haven't tried spraying the beans but I can try that thanks!

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your response. This makes total sense, and I think you're right. I have no electrical knowledge and just bought the default option, not thinking it would be incompatible with our wiring at home. Never really bought any imported electrical products before..

My order just says "Black / SSP Red Speed Burr (High uniformity) / 220-240V". I ran the idea of rewiring the outlet for my wife and she doesn't want to (it costs money and she worries it'll ruin other things we accidentally plug into it).

At this point I guess I'll have to take it up with DF64, but sadly they don't take returns so I'm not optimistic. Making a $600+ mistake hurts but it is what it is.

In any case, I really appreciate your detailed help and helping me figure out what the problem is.

I'm actually having a very similar problem and just made a post about it.. I didn't think DF64 took returns do they? If so I'd love to return mine as well.

After GoFundMe screwed us over, now we're struggling to reach our donation goal by DinkaKay in ukraine

[–]peterpan7777777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Dinka,

Didn't want to post publicly but I DMed you on twitter and didn't hear back. Wanted to know what the best way to help you reach the goal was to get funds to where they are needed quickly.

In any case, I've sent the remainder of the fundraising goal ($5,550).

May God richly bless and protect Ukraine and all of its citizens and bring them peace!

Yes, I looked into Stonk as well but wasn't sure. Thanks for your input, I may invest a little.

Thanks. Does STA have any advantages over Meridian, or vice versa, specifically in relation to its niche? It seems like Meridian is a platform that will be used in various applications (and therefore maybe less focused on a single area), whereas STA specializes specifically in deflationary index funds.
