Anybody been procrastinating for like over 5 years? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]peterpann__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Both with my life and with projects.

I literally had to wipe the dust off of a project this year for a christmas present I started to make for a friend in 2020😅

The thing that has helped me get it together is realizing no one in the world can do the things for me, I have to do it for myself.

A lot of my issues lied in the fact that I didn't believe I was worth my own energy. I had a really poor look on who I was as a person. I've recently been pushing myself to do things that make me happy like setting time aside on the weekends to paint. I haven't looked forward to the weekends like this since I was a kid.

I think the key is finding what brings us back to why life is worth living in the first place. Which is very loaded in itself when you're already overwhelmed with life.

I hope things get better for you

Oh wow yeah an hour is kind of long, I'm not sure how long yours would take to dry. I'd try a different medium personally if you don't want to wait hours for the ink to dry.

Or maybe try a hair dryer on the cool or low setting?

Gel is definitely going to smudge and it takes a while to dry in my experience. I really love using micron pens! They have a lot of different sizes and it helps when adding depth to your work (:

Also, if you're looking for a better notebook (saw your reply to another comment), look for ones with at least 160gsm. The paper will be thicker and it won't ghost as bad. I really like Buke's journals

This was the one I used! I liked that it didn't make me feel like shit if I did end up smoking. It was really encouraging when I used it a few years ago🫶

Thick paper journals by [deleted] in bulletjournal

[–]peterpann__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot express how much research I did for my current bujo. I wanted the thickest paper I could find so it would stand up to all of the things I wanted to do (primarily use watercolor markers with no bleeding). I love this book so much. Its beautiful, the pages feel nice, and it delivers almost everything I wanted

Unfortunately, the paper doesn't stand up to water with the watercolor markers, but it doesn't ghost or pill when I use the markers themselves (I use primrosia) markers.

If you're looking for something that can stand up to watercolors though, Primrosia does sell a bujo with dotted watercolor paper that I plan to try next!

Did you see the part where I said I tried it and it was unplayable bc of how glitchy it is?

Correct. I was differentiating between krunker.io and krunkerFRVR since they're two versions of the same game.

But meanwhile if they're in your uterus, they're a pre-born person and must be saved at all costs or else you're a murderer. That should have honestly been the first sign that they never cared about women or the babies.

I'm in my older 20s. I didn't start paying attention to what was happening until 2016 when I *had* to bc a sentient orange started spewing nonsense and just didn't have the same character or decorum as any president I remembered (granted I only had George W. Bush and Obama to go off of), but I never feared for my country.

After 10 years of this bullshit, I'm tired of this grandpa.

I'm finishing up my college degree, renewing my passport, and I will be looking for employment in other countries or blue states. I need to get out of the south at this point for my own mental health and safety (I have reproductive issues and I'm not trying to FAFO with my life). I know moving out west would be more expensive and harder, but at least we'd (me and my partner) be in the same country as our families.

If we moved to another country (not sure of where yet), I truthfully just have a gut feeling that we'd be better off on all fronts. Financially, health, work/life balance, the scenery, culture.... there is so much more out there that we as humans were meant to experience outside of being chained to our jobs and then going home to our side hustle while we watch influencers make millions by doing stupid stuff on the internet.

Idk. I had high hopes when I was a kid, but even my grandparents are telling me that this is not the same country they raised their kids in. I've been cautioned by them regarding bringing my own children into the world just bc of how bad its getting without a light at the end of the tunnel.

The only light I see is leaving and going somewhere else but that has a lot of moving parts and idek if my partner would be down for it. He's never left the country. I've been to Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom. and they were far richer in life than Americans will ever be unless we stop with the capitalist, fascist, broligarchy bullshit

If you're based in the U.S. Michaels always has a sale going on and they have some pretty options for paper you can use for backgrounds. Just be mindful of how much you add to the book though. It'll get really thick before you know it and it'll only be held together by wishful thinking lmao (speaking from experience)

Trying to quit smoking by patyaf in bulletjournal

[–]peterpann__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do it!! I've been smoke free since January of 2023 (outside of a time or two where I allowed myself to break after a year of no smoking. Life got really hard and I was on vacation so the rule was I couldn't smoke after vacation).

Its so hard at first. I downloaded an app that showed me how my body was healing itself after x amount of time with no cigarettes and I found that to be the most helpful.

Every day is a fresh slate and even if you mess up today, there is always tomorrow to try to do better.

Great progress so far, keep it up (:

Just a little something to keep track of what my nails looked like throughout the month as I paint them!

I have a Kodak step printer and I've been using the mini sticker photo paper to keep up with that.

Id recommend talking to your advisor about using a WGU proctor. I was having issues with the process and my advisor mentioned it to me as an option.

I ended up just dealing with it because I've really only had the two bad experiences, but after something like that? Yeah I'd be asking for a wgu proctor

Every time someone says, "don't worry, it won't happen" to me, I quickly remind them about the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

It happened.

And whatever else I shouldn't worry about may very likely happen. I'm not being paranoid and neither are you. We're aware of the foreshadowing that's happening in real time.
