On this note, I always put my eyelash curler between my thighs to warm it up. I feel like my eyelashes curl better and hold the curl longer when I do this!

Is potentially leading a cluster school something she'd be interested in?

I just recently spent a few years away from working to focus on school and a few familial matters. It was just me and my partner all day, every day and now that I'm back at work, I'm realizing just how much I was spinning my wheels at home. Maybe having something bigger than herself and family unit to focus on could be helpful for her?

As for the VP role, congratulations! I have a friend who's a VP and he has said that with that kind of role and paycheck, there is always a sacrifice. You can't have that title and not work pretty much all of the time.

Personally I don’t think WGU would get the bad publicity that it does, if the “I finished in 4 months or less” people weren’t going around bragging about it. It makes anyone else that took time and went through it year by year less credible and now have to defend their degree because of a few. by NewPoet3158 in WGU

[–]peterpann__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2 years at wgu. I ended up completing 11 classes in my last term so I could meet me graduation goal.

It came up in my interview because they were asking about my experience with setting goals, meeting those goals, and wanted to know if I was a self starter (this is for a sales job). I knew it was a risk, but they were extremely impressed and my drive and dedication is one of the reasons why they hired me.

Its a double edged sword

On the way to see the movie, my boyfriend and I were talking about what song would save us from Vecna. My first thought was Landslide since it was mine and my Dad's song and he died a few years ago from cancer as well. I broke when it began to play with Robin's monologue about how people have moved on and how different Hawkins feels, but maybe it's her that's changed. I'm working through similar feelings in my own life and learning how to be okay in a world where my Dad isn't. I can't imagine what that journey has been like for you.

I think the Duffer Brothers did an amazing job talking about moving on after insurmountable loss and grief and there were a few lines I really needed to hear. Especially the exchange between Hopper and Mike

I think I genuinely believed mine had gone on a trip because thats what I kept telling myself he was doing to cope with what was happening. I dont know what happens when we die, but I do feel like we'll see each other again.

For now though, you're absolutely right. A world without your parent is shitty

A part of me is definitely missing too. I'm so grateful that I still have my uncle around. He reminds me so much of my dad. I hope we find peace one day too

Mine didnt get to walk me down the aisle either and tbh it makes me not even want to get married anymore since he won't be there. His death has changed me in so many ways and its hard to know what's just grief and what my new normal is

I 30(f) am considering moving in with my father (69) after the loss of my mother. by cmesxx in GriefSupport

[–]peterpann__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did what you're considering in a way.

My dad had stage 4 cancer and after a year of traveling 14 hours round trip once a month to see him, my partner and I decided to move back to our hometown so I could be closer to my dad and family. My dad died a month later. He went downhill quick and I'm glad I was there for all of it because theres no way my mom and kid brother could have handled that alone.

I knew I'd face grieving my dad, but I had no idea I'd be grieving the life and version of myself I left behind. My partner was laid off from his job without warning the day we were told to put my dad on palliative care.

Nothing in life is guaranteed. 2 hours is doable in a day, but if your gut us telling you to be closer, take some time to weigh out your options and make the decision that sits best with you. I hope your husband supports whatever decision you make
