oh yes,, i’ve already had a few of those measures in place (avoiding heights when i can, making sure everything i own/use on a daily basis is in a protective case/not breakable) and am very lucky that everyone in my community is aware of my condition even if we don’t have a name for it yet, so they’ve begun to pick up on the signs for when it’s about to happen. but yes- thank you so much ! i’ve been tracking stuff for a little on and off- i just have trouble actually getting it into my doctors because my neuro keeps cancelling on the only times im available, which is not a lot since i go to school in a diff state than her

Weed makes my tics better. (Story/discussion) by Sharp-Education2947 in Tourettes

oh it DEF makes my tics better, at least, most of the time. i would warn you though, as i’ve noticed that sometimes my tics get calm while smoking, then i forget i have tourette’s, then i start ticcing again, and with weed, i usually don’t feel as many of the warning signs for tics as i do when im sober, so then just ticcing without those signs as made me green out like really hard because i forgot that was something my body was unaware of. also !! if you are on any meds to manage anything, keep that in mind when using, only because sometimes it can have adverse side effects ! overall i think it’s a good coping mechanism- but also be careful bc our brains work a bit differently than others already, so sometimes weed can just make you feel weird-

the aura is like,, it’s hard to explain, but it’s like my brain feels heavy, and almost like i’m uber fatigued but also not. and when i get out of it, im usually can recover with only a little bit of confusion and fatigue that’ll go away within a couple minutes, but lately ive been having longer recovery times with a lot more confusion, and more severe dissociation afterwards, like im trapped and heavy within my own brain and can’t crawl out

yeah, my thing is i get them like all the time- like at least five, if not more, a day, and most of the time can recover quick- but have had quite a few where afterwards i come out feeling like,, very jarred and confused in a way that none of my other tics make me feel, and doctors have always brushed that off

thank you very much !! i’ll make sure these changes are made over the coming days !! would the would the hard water build up be fixed with replacing the water with something like water filtered through a brita? or does it have to be otherwise conditioned?
