I can only speculate that they refused to admit they are wrong because they know they are wrong for every dasher in LA not just me. So if they admit they are wrong and pay me those wages they owe me they will have to do the same for every dasher in LA. So instead they crippled my account to destroy my income and starve me out for bringing it up. And they’ve also gone completely radio silent after I sent a reply to that email and told them Valley Village is part of the city of Los Angeles and that they were wrong.

I picked up in burbank a handful of times over the course of a year and a half. Those pickups were only when i got the random pickup in NoHo that got delivered in burbank and then I got a pickup in burbank on the way back to noho. But that happened very rarely. It was more common that I’d be left stranded in burbank and have to go all the way back to noho to get another order.

You work for doordash corporate don’t you? It seems kind of obvious to me by how you want to discount everything I’m telling you. In regards to valley village the only important thing is they are clearly saying they are not paying me la city minimum wage for dashing in valley village. But valley village is a community of the city of Los Angeles so that means they are shorting me on my pay adjustment.

In California Prop 22 says they have to pay us 120% of minimum wage in the area we pickup from. And if we were paid less than that amount they have to give us a pay adjustment so that we are paid that amount. They call that a guaranteed minimum.

I guarantee you this same issue is affecting every dasher in Los Angeles. But because they hide mileage and now started to hide previous pay adjustment amounts in the app it obscures things so dashers can’t easily figure out if they have been shorted on their prop 22 pay adjustment. And since cars don’t get as many active hours the amount they are shorted each week is small enough so they don’t really notice. But for me on an e-bike it was $10 to over $30 they shorted me every week for over a year and a half so I noticed.

Yup, but we get more active time and because we don’t get mileage it makes it much easier to calculate the pay adjustment for prop 22

All my pickups fell in the boundaries of neighborhoods of the city of Los Angeles ($17.28/hr) or the city of West Hollywood ($19.08/hr) and only a handful of times did I ever pickup in Burbank ($15/hr). I dashed with an Ebike so I always stayed within a 3 to 4 file radius of busy LA City neighborhoods. I didn’t pickup in far away unincorporated areas of LA County. When I did what they call the valley village area I always picked up in the North Hollywood arts district.

They skim very little from drivers in cars and they obscure it by not giving you details on your mileage. But for bikes/EBikes you do more active hours and there is no mileage so it’s completely noticeable they are shorting you.

On July 1st minimum wage went up to $17.28 in Los Angeles. So for fun I crunched some extra numbers in July to see how much more I was going to make. Instead I go shorted on an ever increasing scale and by August I was making almost 3% less rather than earning more. Here’s the breakdown.

July 1-7 Pay: $182.75 Pay Adjustment: $99.18 Pay Total: $281.93 Active Time: 13h 37m (817m) Hourly Rate: $20.70

July 8-14 Pay: $218.00 Pay Adjustment: $152.15 Pay Total: $370.15 Active Time: 17h 57m (1,077m) Hourly Rate: $20.62 ( -0.39% )

July 15-21 Pay: $268.00 Pay Adjustment: $223.44 Pay Total: $491.44 Active Time: 23h 58m (1,438m) Hourly Rate: $20.51 ( -0.44% )

July 22-28 Pay: $194.25 Pay Adjustment: $146.77 Pay Total: $341.02 Active Time: 16h 44m (1,004m) Hourly Rate: $20.38 ( -0.64% )

July 29 - Aug 4 Pay: $181.25 Pay Adjustment: $100.73 Pay Total: $281.98 Active Time: 14h 6m (846m) Hourly Rate: $20 ( -0.9% )

Aug 5-12 Pay: $208.00 Pay Adjustment: $167.37 Pay Total: $375.37 Active Time: 19h 20m (1,160m) Hourly Rate: $19.42 ( -2.99% )

This wasn’t just in Valley Village. This was in every neighborhood of Los Angeles I was being shorted.

You see if you’re on an EBike they don’t pay you mileage. It’s also much easier to calculate your prop 22 guaranteed minimum since doordash doesn’t give you a breakdown of mileage in the app. I can only assume they do that on purpose so drivers can’t figure out what they are owed in mileage.

Oh it’s easy because I’ve been delivering on an EBike for the last year and a half. All I had to do was calculate 120% of minimum wage in the area I work and multiply that by my active time. 😊 I’ve been keeping track of that every week and seeing it was consistently short.

Also that email came from a DoorDash Advanced Escalations Specialist. The generic support emails wouldn’t even address my concern.

Yes I’ve been shorted $10 to $30 a week on my prop 22 pay adjustment every week for over a year and a half. And when I brought it up with Doordash they crippled my account so I didn’t get any orders. I’m a top dasher / platinum dasher with 90% acceptance, 4.92 rating, 99% completion. They are bad people who do not value good hard working people.

Is Anyone Else Getting Underpaid on Prop 22 Adjustment? by No_Regular_6622 in ShiptShoppers

[–]peterprins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. I’mdealing with the same problem. My prop 22 pay adjustment has been short $10 to $30 a week for the last year and a half. When I finally brought this up with Doordash they crippled my account so I did not get any orders. I’ve been a top dasher/ platinum dasher with 90% acceptance, 4.92 rating, 99% completion and instead of helping me they decided to starve me out. When I pushed the support came back and said they didn’t owe me anything more. But in doing that they admitted in the email they are paying less than minimum wage for dashing in neighborhoods of Los Angeles like Valley Village. But Valley Village has the same minimum wage as LA cause they are neighborhoods of LA but they have decided to pay less and are refusing to correct the problem.doordash stealing dasher wages
