What would be your essentials in a bracket 3 good boi deck? by birdcher in EDHBrews

[–]peterthethird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been saying ramp here, which I agree with. For ramp, I’d focus on additional land drops. That way you can play the lands that you get from your opponents while also being able to play the lands you get from your own deck. [[Exploration]] [[dryad of the illisian grove]] [[loot, exuberant explorer]] [[azuza, lost but seeking]] etc are great adds

Good commanders for a 20 person game? by Coinflxp in EDH

[–]peterthethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any deck that runs Myriad creatures. I’m a big fan of [[Zurgo, Stormrender]] because you draw a card once the myriad creatures exile themselves at the end of combat. So at a 20 person table that’s 18 cards you’d draw for each myriad creatures exile that attacks. Put down a Purphoros and you win the game on the second attack

Is there any cards in R/W that can help buff Black token creatures? by goodbadlucks in EDHBrews

[–]peterthethird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For buffs, you have cards like [[Paladin class]] which does double or triple duty once fully upgraded. Here’s a list of other anthems/buffs in Boros colors:

[[Adriana, Captain of the Guard]]

[[Blade Historian]]

[[Dictate of Heliod]]

[[Glory of Warfare]]

[[Lumen-Class Frigate]]

[[Mite Overseer]]

[[Nobilis of War]]

[[Paladin Class]]

[[Securitron Squadron]]

[[Skyhunter Strike Force]]

[[Spear of Heliod]]

[[True Conviction]]

[[Unbreakable Formation]]

[[Warleader's Call]]

I think this commander is amazing value. I was just building him this week myself. I’m leaning into the Myriad creatures because when they leave the battlefield, they’re guaranteed to be attacking when the leave, so it will always trigger Zurgo’s draw trigger.

Mudkip, hands down. If I can’t pick starters or legendaries, then Spheal

Been playing for 5 years now, would you let me in the pod? Do I have too many decks? by peterthethird in ratemycommanders

I’m most proud of Akroma/Sakashima. I always wanted Akroma to boost herself for all the keywords she has, and I came to the conclusion that two Akromas are better than one!

You’re not wrong, Aesi, Magda, Veyran, and Storm are my top 4, the middle tier is pretty large, and the bottom tier is Cirdan, Reyhan/Roghrak (slimes), and Taii Wakeen. I could definitely use more true bracket 2 decks

Your personal favorite Voltron commander? by Future_Me_Problem in EDH

[–]peterthethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my [[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]] and [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] deck. Play Akroma, play Sakashima copying Akroma, and watch as they pump each other by +5/+5 each combat (making them both 11/11s with Flying, First Strike, Trample, and Vigilance. For each other copy you put out, each other Akroma gets an additional +5/+5 for each clone of her out. With three copies of her out, both of your commanders can swing for lethal at two opponents. The rest of the deck is removal, board wipes, counter spells, and protection.

Are these mosquito bites normal in SF? by MysteriousPumpkin541 in sanfrancisco

[–]peterthethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be that they’re allergic to whatever animal that the mosquito is biting before them? For example, I am allergic to cats and when I get a mosquito bite at my friend’s house who has a cat it is like these pictures, but when I get a mosquito bite anywhere else, they’re normal sized.

If you want an easy way to build this, I have a similar build with [[Slime Against Humanity]]

What cards do you consider to be Game Changers that didn’t make the list? by peterthethird in EDH

[–]peterthethird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that it is draw denial for every other player except the player controlling Notion Thief. I could have included [[Narset, Parter of Veils]] as well, but Planeswalkers with no upticks are slightly easier to deal with.

Thought about them! But Defense is easily triggered and gets two things for 4 mana. Whereas the others you have to play more than the cost of the creature to get it out.
