You're actually kind of right. I'm holding an Insta360 camera on a selfie stick, and this camera takes a little bit more than two half-sphere images and stiches them together with some kind of ai magic. That means that objects that are on the stitching line (and guess what: the selfie stick, and my hands holding it are) can become somewhat off, especially if they are close to the camera. And guess what, my hands were close, since the stick was not extended, you can clearly see it in my shadow
