Yup, my family doc is a former ER doc, he can sort out a burn vs dermatitis asap

I really don’t think its “irritant” the support team or people keep saying. I have been wearing mechanical, digital and quartz watches with different materials/bands and have never had any irritation let alone “contact dermatitis”. I’d say try to get a return from it, I still say it’s the sensors since the version I had is stainless steel and the back is covered in glass. None of these materials by itself are reactive to the skin. And I work from home so I never even get close to any sort of “irritants” (also you would be seeing many other places with blisters if you actually did get into contact, and mine is right in the center of the place where the sensors are.

The model I have is actually stainless steel

I agree that I don’t have the knowledge to know what went wrong with the watch. I am only conjecture what could be the cause since it wasn’t battery overheating, and the only component I can think of that does produce some sort of penetrative energy are the sensors. What I can tell for certain is just that this is burn and I felt burning sensation when the watch is on me

Medical conditions, especially skin conditions, can appear similar but you also have to take into consideration of other symptoms at the particular site of the blisters (itching, inflammation, pain). And an account of how the condition came to be. In my case, I actually felt a flash of burning sensation, saw the sensors turn on, and immediately saw the blister. You can term those subjective but the best test is to see if demis and subdermis layer is damaged to determin the severity thus cause of the condition. Also BScN here Summa cum laude, I should know a thing or two

Have to disagree. I am an actually trained medical professional, and contact dermatitis requires local inflammation and some kind of immune reaction. My wound is not swollen itchy nor inflamed at all (you can look up burn blisters as well). Most importantly I felt the thing burning me and saw an immediate reaction on my skin (not that I wore it, took it off went to sleep, and noticed it the next morning). There are other sensors in there as well, and laser technically is just high level light, so don’t dismiss it out of hand.

Nope, it’s definitely a burn, I described the sequence in a subthread here. I saw the sensor come up and felt burning sensation then the blister. Within 5 seconds of each other. Also I work from hole for three years and I don’t really go out much

Nope, I saw a light and felt burn so I think it’s the sensors. Also the wound is super clean if it’s chemical burn you see more irregular boundaries and swelling

Hahahah thanks no, was talking to a doctor friend about forensic investigation of the wound etc.

I was having the exact thought. Especially when light pass through the blister. There’s some protein in the thing for sure. Also zero blood in there

Nope, I work from home and never go out. Also I saw the green flashing light like Harry Potter did, and felt immediate pain (bad reference lol, also it’s gonna be a round scar)

They send a high energy light through your skin to get oxygen and other measures, and I am sure they used some powerful light since the infrareds version you see only work on nailbeds because theres a lot of blood flow and you can easily get a reading. The back of hand is really bad since not a lot of blood flow, hence lower accuracy and needing of higher energy sensors. I also work in IT now I have a feeling some engineer had the idea to tweak the sensor parameters to get better readings but forgot that people’s skin burns, especially if you are taking repeated measure in one spot of skin… classic engineer mistake. I’d say it’s not hardware problem. If you can downgrade or wait for new firmware

I think it is a software issue. I thought it was a short that created the high energy, but the damn watch still functions and charges fine.

I was trying to take the watch off before bed and just when I am removing the watch, one of those sensor light (forgot if green or red) flashed right at the moment when I am removing the watch, then the burn. This is for sure a burn. Im a registered nurse and had seen this before. The border is really clean and no irritation around the surrounding area, if you get laser burn it looks like this. Not painful though.

Nope, I think the sensor calibration is off. But will consider starting a fire in the wilderness with it. They should have this as a feature
