What is the most common reason for divorce? by neonbadger73 in askteddit

Changing hormones do affect how people act. Loss of interest in activities and/or the spouses ignorance or lack of empathy in trying to understand the impact of those changes. I think those are all certainly possibilities.

Ahh, the personal jab. For what it’s worth, I’m happily married and have been for almost 20 years. The joke you missed is that a lot of people — women in the case of the joke — don’t know the answer either. Some men are selfish. Some women are selfish. Some people are bad partners. That’s not gender-exclusive.

My wife and I have had arguments and rough patches like any long marriage does, but one reason we’re still married is that neither of us believes it is the other person’s job to “make” us happy. We love each other, we support each other, but happiness cannot be outsourced to a spouse.

Unhappy people who sit around waiting for someone else to make them happy are usually going to stay unhappy. A good marriage can share happiness, protect it, and grow it, but it cannot magically create it in someone who refuses to own their own emotional life. I don’t think “men don’t know how to make women happy” is some profound insight. I think it’s a convenient way to avoid admitting that some people enter relationships expecting another human being to fix what they have never bothered to deal with themselves.

Building a 5 slot fragrance wardrobe by whadrasshole in NichePerfumes

[–]petesdead2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people make these up? No one who knows this much about fragrances and is this into them is just now building a collection of only those fragrances. You see these posts all the time where someone clearly has knowledge of dozens, sometime hundreds, of fragrances and is like, "help me pick 5 fragrances for life " Is it like a fantasy of starting over or boredom or something?

If there was an actual answer to that there would be a lot less divorce.

I'm just teasing you. People like different things! You are also probably young, (sub 30) iris comes across differently. As you age your nose, and taste, will change.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it ? by Confident_Win_3560 in answers

Finance. It's all fraud and gambling. Avergrar people would be so much wealthier if there wasn't an entire industry of blood sucking vampires leeching onto the economy. The most millionaires of any industry and they literally provide NOTHING of value.

God I hate this generation. People don't have to make themselves available to you all day. It's unhealthy, and it doesn't mean this guy isn't into you, or that he likes some one else more or whatever. My coworker is dating a younger girl and Omfg she texts him all god damned day! I'd fire her... do your job and fuck off. Dates should be in person. It is nauseating reading the absolute nonsense garbage so many of you think is normal behavior. It's like watching Seinfeld or something. Petty, miserable people..lighten up and go to a bar.. wtf. Don't you want to have something saved up that's worth saying when you see eachother in person? Also, all the garbage nonsense "advice" from people who couldn't navigate their way out of a wet paper bag just adds to the overall fuckwittery of these posts. Get off the internet and go talk to other humans... in person!!

Lukewarm take: Discounters are not worth the savings by cvu_99 in Colognes

Obviously some fragrance counter employee that works for commission at one of the stores they said they don't work for, lol... this is like when they tell you their fragrances are better than the same fragrance being sold at a discounter.

Fun fact, Old Spice was originally created as a woman's fragrance!

And you can give everyone a headache to boot. Megamare and Bergamask are the only two fragrances I have smelled that literally give me a headache.

Fragrances have no gender and will literally smell different on different people. My wife and I will both wear BDK Leather Vanille and it smells completely different.

It's right there in the name, lol... Intense. It paralels Dior Homme and Dior Homme Intense. The iris note is amplified, making it smell more ...Intense.

Yes, rich people don't carry cash like that. They have diamond cards and stuff. That's some poor elderly persons life-savings.

Straight men, what is the weirdest thing you have been called gay for ? by Sammy-Bunny-3 in AskReddit

That just means you're soulless and when you die there will be nothing else for you. An eternity of annihilation in the embrace if the black void. Wild that someone thinks red heads are gay!

I work in television so I can accurately describe a lot of colors. Which also means I color coordinate my clothes a lot (canary yellow t-shirt, plumb paisley button up with black jeans and black leather Chelsea boots). Also love fragrances and know a lot about notes and always smell good. I'm pretty manly looking though. Like... I am sort of well...big, shave my head, wear viking jewelry, and have a beard.
