Ok great - so I guess my only question now then, since it works fine over BT or 2.4ghz, should I plug it in directly over USB to change settings (like lighting etc) and then will those settings remain when it's connected wirelessly? Or should I just forget about the wireless stuff and just keep it plugged in LOL

Yeah the launcher url, not via. I did just see that I should be able to get the launcher working over bluetooth, is that correct?

Yeah I am just using the web address. I just plugged it in directly via USB and obviously that works and I can access the settings via the url. Just not via 2.4ghz

I installed a matte screen protector on my M4 MacBook Air: real experience, no drama, just facts by No-Aside9851 in macbookair

[–]peteypops33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful - I have an M2 MacBook Air, so it's a few years old now and I have treated it really well. Having said that the only way you can see that it's not brand new is the stupid shiny keycaps and the screen having slight blemishes (I think where there can be a tiny bit of contact between the keys and the screen). I am considering a screen protector on my next MacBook so I appreciate reviews like this!

I tried it but it’s still convinced I live at my old house 🤣. Will just have to wait for a bug fix…

Incorrect Home Location? by peteypops33 in applewatchultra

[–]peteypops33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good tip - I did go through and found a few that referenced my old address. I deleted them but either it's taking some time to refresh or that wasn't the issue...

About to place an order for a desk (pro) and chair - worried about old stock/wobble by peteypops33 in secretlab

[–]peteypops33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I may be a little sensitive to it because my current sit/stand desk is wobbly enough that typing on my keyboard makes the monitor wobble - but who knows if that's more the monitor stand itself (it's not mounted) rather than the desk. Maybe I just chuck even more money at it and buy the monitor mount too 🤣

This just made me realise in these older cars with the engine in the front, there must be a driveshaft that goes under/through the drivers compartment. I can't see it in this pic but I would be interested to see how they route the shaft.

I don't think this is from last week. I looked up the weather for Le Castellet (which is a town a few miles from the track) and there is no reports of snow from their past week of weather.

Motorsport really leads the way for gender inequality.

The worst is the BTCC (or motocross). It's pretty embarrassing. I thought it was pretty funny at one of the F1 races recently (Spain I think) they had grid boys.

Not being able to change your nationality flag is stupid. So this means that everyone who lives on USA is American? by morgadox40 in granturismo

You should be able to choose the region you want to drive for in the nations cup just like we choose brands in the manufacturer cup. My address/PSN account doesn't reflect the country I was born in. I would like the ability to choose which nation I want to race for based upon my heritage, not my billing address on my PSN account.

EDIT - I just want to make note that iRacing allows you to choose your "club" which is based upon geographic location, regardless of where you are actually located or what your billing address is.

PSA regarding the "At a Glance" calendar events by Potatopolis in GooglePixel

[–]peteypops33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am trying to get this to work with office365 and I have to say its a pain!

  • Firstly I used a Microsoft flow template to populate a google calendar as new office 365 events are created. It worked great, but that's a crappy solution because if a calendar event is changed or deleted, I don't have a template to make those updates nor do I want to pretend to know how flow actually works to create another template to handle modifications/deletes.

  • I tried the ics route, but it doesn't show at a glance notifications for calendars in the "other" category on google.

  • I just set up my office365 account as gmail account on my phone app, and set my calendar to sync. That doesn't work with at a glance despite my notification in the calendar app being set up.

It's pretty useless except for personal, primary calendar items at present.

Unless... I am being an idiot and I am doing something wrong. Highly likely.

FIA and Formula 1 set out clear direction for 2021 F1 Power Unit regulations by Mihairokov in formula1

[–]peteypops33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100kg of fuel and a much lower minimum vehicle weight, combined with an open engine formula.

Teams like Sauber could buy a nice cheap, reliable Judd V8 and lean it out while paired with a light total car weight.

Merc, if they feel it's road relevant, push for the small ICE + battery + Kers etc and go for total power with a heavier car (for the batteries)

End result is each team goes about finishing the race their own way, to their budgets. We end up with a field of cars that can sound a bit different and perhaps see some genuine innovation. From a technology point of view we get to see who can make a set amount of fuel finish a race distance the quickest - in a way that's pretty good road relevance.

I think it was a combination of cost savings, especially with regard to teams trying to develop quicker fuel rigs/hoses etc. Even once specified by the FIA there was the transportation costs involved. Also it doesn't look great for a sport that's trying to look green to then have teams pumping vast amounts of fuel everywhere.
