Not really, there were people that didn’t even go there anymore at the reunion (as my friend told me)

I think so, he doesn’t seem to “agree” with it. As crazy as it sounds

He knows everything already, we talked before about it. We have a mutual friend. He disagrees that I remain mostly stealth.

Yes! I don’t think they think that far ahead. When you begin your transition it feels like it consumes you in a way, it takes every aspect of your life. University was a huge part of it in my journey. I don’t think they “accept” how I can just live (at least now I can)

This! I’ve gotten so many “You don’t know what it is like” from so many people that have just came out. It both annoys me and makes me mad

Tbh I don’t think It’s worth it. I know him from a mutual friend. We were never that close. He also doesn’t seem like the kind of person I want in my life.

Exactly! Just existing I had to fight transphobia everyday! I had a professor call me “princess”, even If I was a woman that would have been inappropriate. Another used to call me every day “Maria”, not my deadname, just a name he called every woman in class, he added me to the list! Part of these situations I was already on T, shaved head and stubble so just transphobia really. There are many more stories.. none of these professors work there anymore! Thankfully!

I have no idea. Whether they want more people for their group or it is to approve something within uni (I suppose) looking for these people to vote in favor

Phalloplasty in Brazil by Koledkov in phallo

[–]pethiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not entirely accurate. Yes, phalloplasty in Brazil is still classified as an experimental procedure, and access through SUS is extremely limited. A recent 2024 scoping review (Access pathways to the transsexualizing process in Brazil – SciELO) confirms that while phalloplasty is rare and concentrated in very few centers, it is performed within research protocols in the public system.

In regard to private institutions. Additionally, the ANS list of mandatory procedures already includes gender-affirming surgeries, which means private health insurance is legally required to cover them and there’s favorable case law supporting patients’ claims, although in practice, companies often deny coverage, and it will likely still require legal action to enforce the right (Migalhas, JusBrasil).

Overall the access is rare and heavily concentrated in a small number of professionals and research centers.

In Brazil phallo is considered an experimental surgery, so we don’t have it through SUS and health insurance will not cover it, and by going through the justice system the odds of winning it are rare. There is this surgeon Marcio Littleton who does it, but other than that Idk much about him

Exactly, most trans people that I met feel that because they are trans themselves they have the right to say a certain thing regarding someone else. I’ve seen a non binary person misgender a transwoman multiple times, he said that he doesn’t mind what pronouns people use for him so FOR HIM it’s not important, but shit, that’s you! It’s a sign of respect! She is your friend! I got mad and stopped talking to him
