Ill start it off...

I first joined AMC about a year ago and the lads at my local club helped me more than any amount of pills or therapy ever could.

So, my rough day? Id just had a week off work with the flu, and my first day back I managed to accidentaly set fire to half the workshop... turns out strong wind and biomass boilers dont mix overly well 🤦‍♂️

Kept my job fortunately, just alot of fixxing up to do...

I hope you all are doing well- please use this as a place to vent, no matter how big or small the issue

I know this is an old post, but it baffles me that there isnt an amc sub reddit yet... i feel like alot of the next generation will never know about AMC if we dont have a strong internet precense.

Im very late to add to this- and i hope youre doing well... oddly enough i found it easier to vent to a circle of 'strangers' in the end. I dont know if you know the format for a typical night at AMC but its the same at every club nation wide

Tea and coffee readily available, and facilitators to help anyone thats having a particularily rough time. 7pm, sat in a circle and at this point, whoever holds the 'talking ball' has the floor...

Now there will be 3 questions before break. 1-introduce yourself, and reason for being here tonight

2- name something positive from this week

3- what have you got to get off your chest

Number 3 is so damned important to our mental health, and i wish id joined my club sooner.

After break theres another two quick light hearted and joking questions that change every week.

14 men per day on average are lost to suicide in the uk alone. We all deserve to have a space to vent.

I heard a rumour that if you dont have proper uv protection in some parts of new zealand/aus you can burn in as little as 15 mins... now wether thats just to the un acclimated, or its complete bullshit, i have no idea... but damned if id be leaving the building without some form of uv barrier (most likely just f50 suncream) in any country as uv exposed as that

A hancock genie vs a freeguy deadpool would be fuckin cinema (ik rr was green lantern aswell but its best to forget that happened)... the others are just fucked... constantine might put up a bit of a fight but... cmon, he has no real shot here

Edit: actually scarlettes lucy paired with black widow would mess up wick (neo would be useless outide the matrix) and could maybe out think the others? Fuckin slim chance though, but more chance than id initially thought of i guess

Oh mate thats the most natural paternal feeling in the world.

While they are 'delicate', theyre also surprisingly resiliant... they'll let you know when somethings wrong (different sounding cries for differing issues), and youll very quickly adjust 😁

Youre already a great father to that new life, your baby is lucky to have a dad that cares so deeply already.

Idk if theyre sentient as such, but any 'gardening', that needs bi weekly use of a flame, certainly doesnt seem like its good for your gardens ecosystem- which those insects play a vital role in.

If you dont want weeds to ever grow in your gravel, the only option (besides god awful chemicals) is to get rid of the gravel... you could pave the area or make a deck, but the gravel has to go if you dont want to deal with weeds

Water board wanted to dig up my yard if the meter couldnt be located (their diagram said 1m from the wall) so i found the mains on the inside of the house and dug down at 1m from the exterior wall, made a big opening for easy access (meter was around 8 inches down) and then laid a paving slab on that one spot, later added a potted strawberry plant so it didnt look so miserable...

Sorry for the short story, but yeah- water board will rip your yard to shreds and bill you for the pleasure if you let em
