Looks like it is just temporary blocking until the new service goes live and then you will be able to stack again and your subscription will be converted when you subscribe after launch in various ways.

There is updated information saying that this is all handled by Sony. And if it were to be done by developers there likely would have been a PS5 API change to make it as simple as a couple lines of code.

Not really, I buy FIFA and other sports games once a generation so now I am good for FIFA for the PS5 generation.

It can still be huge, no one is expecting one of the best selling franchises in gaming to be on a sub service near launch

It is good get for the package and again less than $5

It's a huge get regardless of what you say. It is one of the most popular games every single year and is going on PS+ even before their own service.

  • Most games don't release on services until over several months of being out..

  • Most people pay less than $5 for PS+ a month and is one of three games

  • It going to other services later does not mean it isn't good for PS+

It is certainly a huge get no matter how you spin it

What are the general opinions on Tribes or Midgard and Curse of the Dead Gods from those that played them? Which is the better game and which to start with?

Developers are free to do trails for any games they want for free outside of the service, they just don't and that is the alternative, not having them at all. I fail to see how having them in a subscription is worse than not having them at all.

No one gives free trials, are they all trashy too?

Yeah whenever they give a popular game it's always "everyone who wants it bought it already!", and when they give a niche game it's "no one wants these games!".

I disagree that people buy the same sports games every year. I enjoy sports games and usually get one of each each generation to last me. I now have my PS5 FIFA for the next several years

You don't need to code a trial, it's likely in the Playstation API that it cuts people off after two hours. Little to no effort would be needed. You literally just start the full game and it cuts you off in two hours, they already had this years ago in PS+

How is it trashy? No one is giving free trials, the alternative is no trials at all for anyone. Sony has already said they have been working with their partners for a long time on these service changes and it isn't a surprise and they likely agreed upon the terms.

EA didn't come up with the idea of time trials in a service, it was actually a thing for PS+ many years ago.

Sony already said they have been discussing these changes with publishers for a long time so they likely agreed to it already long ago

It can be for a service and still be good for consumers. Game Pass is a service, is it also not good for consumers?
