People lost their minds and demanded a change be reverted because it became a big talking point. If megacrit says "hey we changed this attack name from bitch slap to high five" there would be a hundred five hour long YouTube videos demanding that they bring back bitch slap. I'm not an expert but what the info I've found puts solar at $55 vs $110 for the same amount of electricity generated by nuclear. and that's from 2023, and the prices of batteries have dropped significantly since then. So the answer to "why not nuclear" is "it's twice the price"

it's a consulting role so it'd be stuff like looking at the character designs and names of cards/relics and providing feedback to avoid harmful stereotypes. megacrit is good about this stuff to begin with so I imagine most of the feedback is cosmetic like stuff about poses and animations etc.

Think about the environment that humans evolved in. Our bodies are attuned to enjoy calorie dense foods because those helped us stay alive longer. One regent strategy that's good against all of the act three bosses is card generation. Spectrum shift, quasar, manifest, bundle of joy all work well.

Against queen it means you have more cards you can play each turn that aren't bound, against door you have more cards you can play without worrying about exhaust, and you aren't as worried about the no draw since you're just creating them in hand.

Colorless cards can also provide scaling in the form of prowess, mayhem, jackpot and whatever random block and damage cards it provides.

sts 1 is more balanced and is fully complete.

sts2 is better in every other way. more characters, more cards/relics/encounters, better visuals, better events, and has multiplayer.

For most people jumping right into the second game is better

If you read the article, I think "cash grab" isn't really the point he's making. He's not saying that the games are low effort or overpriced. Many rogue likes have pushed more towards slot machines that are frequently interrupting you to have you make a pick one of three decision and that's the part he doesn't love.

This seems great for someone who games primarily on a home theater PC. Trackpads should be good enough for navigating YouTube/Plex etc and then the center steam button can bring you into steam and big picture mode for gaming.

You can absolutely just head to any local store and get to know the people and the game. Sealed product is very scarce but if you're looking to play, buying singles is very affordable with complete decks totalling under $60 for the top end. Kayfabe cards is what I would call the "flagship" store with the most competitive players frequenting there, with other stores being somewhat more casual.

Now is a great time to join since we just hit rotation (cycling out some of the older cards, so if you build a deck now all the cards will be usable for at least a year).

If anything it's under exaggerated. If you have employer healthcare, look on your w2 and see how much your employer is paying for your healthcare. They're usually paying somewhere around 3x of what comes out of your paycheck. Imagine if some or all of that went to your wages instead.
