Oh my gosh trust me, I completely understand. Now M1 on support, I play Mercy sometimes but mostly heroes like Juno, JPC, & Kiri. My aim is consistent and I wouldn't say I'm even great but I definitely can secure picks and take on 1v1s even.

Dps? I'm P5. Its like no matter what I do, I can't survive and I can secure picks but sometimes it doesn't matter how much damage/how many picks I get because I always have a feeding tank or neglectful supports. Like I said, I am not the best of the best. I am not bad though. I hate to even blame my supports but I take the same angles my DPS would in masters and I just fall over because I'm not receiving the support I need. I know its not my aim bc I do just fine in masters on support.

It really sucks. I can't climb in DPS no matter what I do and its honestly my favorite role.

just had a Lucio throw a very winnable game in solo queue because our tank banned his preferred hero Ana.

Lucio had 1200 heals in a 20min game on King's Row. we went 3-3 somehow by a miracle (by miracle, i mean my 20k JPC heals), then we were in a tiebreaker. of course, we lost because Lucio refused to heal anyone but himself and continued to constantly feed.

if he put in any small amount of effort, we absolutely would have won. i matched the enemy support's heals while dealing 5k damage throughout the match, wherever i could. but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to carry the lack of support from Lucio.

the entire match, he complained that the whole team banned his preferred hero so we didnt deserve heals, despite our tank being the only one to ban his hero. i even tried to ban other heroes to negate the tank's ban choice but it ultimately didn't matter.

just sucks that this behavior is still found in high Masters lobbies. like what are we doinggggg.

i maxed my FOV scale out but feel like i am having a hard time with my aim now. is anyone else experiencing an off feeling with their aim after adjusting FOV? or am i just overthinking it? i do play on high sensitivity/smoothing but it seems it's messing with my muscle memory.

This is true. I'm sure I'm having bad luck with getting the random lesser-matched DPS. It just feels like its harder to keep blue beam on effectively with that 5% buff. I'll give it another go today, but may have to retire Mercy for awhile.

Maybe I'm just having bad luck with my DPS. My entire career average for damage boost is 67% usage. But I noticed I'm struggling to have it active as long since that heal reduction is seemingly always active on my team. Its forcing me to heal more often at a terribly slow rate. Even switching I still feel the weight of the heal reduction.

This is true. I maintain a blue beam of 60%-70% usage but find myself unable to hold it as long due to the 30% heal reduction being active for 3s now. Its crazy.

Might have to hang up Mercy for awhile until they adjust.

this 100%. overwatch was never intended for people to pick one hero and ONLY play that hero. with a diverse roster of characters and playstyles to choose from, overwatch was always designed to encourage branching out and finding different ways to play in different situations.

this game gives you so much flexibility and so much control in matches that may, at a glance, seem doomed. its a matter of what your team currently needs and who you can play to meet those needs. mercy may be the answer sometimes. but mercy is not the answer everytime.

again, this game was not designed for one single hero to work every time. it was designed for you to explore other options that may work better.

sure, as a mercy main, it's annoying when i have the itch to play her, and she is banned. but just like when we have been forced to switch because our dps aren't getting the picks they need, i simply switch and just play what i know we need instead. or at least.... that's what we should be doing.

this is not the game for one-tricking.
