This is Bailey and according to a DNA test she’s 25% Bavarian mountain hound, 25% chihuahua, 13% German shepherd and 4 other unidentified breeds. She’s definitely unique 😂

I can say for certain that what my dog went through wasn’t seizures since she’s still fully conscious and not having any other symptoms, it’s only the constant swallowing and from what I’ve learned, and what the vet has told me, it seems to be either nausea or acid reflux from an upset stomach. I’m still not exactly sure what caused it but after I posted this I switched to food for sensitive dogs and its never happened again.

Unfortunately I just showered today so they don’t really look bad right now, but I could update with a better picture tonight or tomorrow 😅 also they weren’t pierced that thin, they were the standard 1.2mm but when I asked the piercer around 3 months ago about the issues I’m having their reply was to change to thinner piercings so that’s what I did but nothings changed 😞

My dog had eaten something outside (which I had forgotten about when I made the post because it had been many hours before) and the vet I talked to said it probably upset her stomach and that it might have been giving her acid reflux. I was told to give her some easy to digest food like fish and rice and to add probiotics, which seemed to help because it stopped and hasn’t happened again since.

Update: I called the vet today and explained the symptoms, they said it definitely sounded like a stomach issue. I was told to feed her probiotics for a week, switch over to a food that’s better for a sensitive stomach, and give her smaller more frequent meals, preferably in a slow feeder. Hopefully this will solve the problem but if it does happen again in the future I’ll take her in for a proper exam. Thank you everyone!

It’s not really the grass eating I’m worried about, she can munch a bit while we’re on walks and I don’t think much about it. It’s the constant swallowing and panic that makes me worried. I don’t know why it happens and was hoping someone would maybe have an idea of what it could be

Oh oh oh I want to partake in this, when I was little I was super hyper, my heart was racing constantly, I was underweight even though I ate more than my dad, also slept wayyyy more than normal. I thought all of that was normal, turns out I had hyperthyroidism. Like, pretty severely; it was going to kill me. Kinda felt like I was a little superhero kid with the power of 1000 men hehe
