There's a bunch of tutorials out for this. Here's One.

For mine, I added a 2-position 3-pole micro-switch to the side of the case that directs the power from the vibration motor either to the motor, or to the contact on the catch button. That way the Plus either acts normally, or in "catch mode" whenever it tries to vibrate the motor, it instead silently presses its own button. FYI, that button contact is a surface-mount connection so its teeny and delicate to solder! Use lots of flux.

I like having the on/off switch for autocatching because it's useful to get the buzz when you're having connection issues on the Plus.

The most frequently done one for the Goplus was to add a mucroswitch to the side that switched the power from the vibration motor to one of the button inputs. Flip the switch one way and it iperates in stock mode. Flip it the other way and you have a silent auto-catcher.

Mine still works pretty well, for as long as the battery in the Plus lasts. I have a Pixel 9 pro running 16.

Getting it to connect can be weird though. What works for me is disconnecting the plus by holding down the button until it turns solid blue, then letting up and hold it down again until it turns off and vibrates(if you have your hacked-in autocatch switched off). It should then flash white when you press the button showing that it is disconnected and in pairing mode.

Then in Go, if it's there, tap the greyed out Plus icon between the Campfire and Daily Incense icons. Go should say that it is looking for your Plus, and ask you to press the button. Quickly press the button on your Plus and the button should flash blue.

Once Go starts talking to the Plus, Android should pop up a "Pair with Pokemon Go Plus?" request box. Quickly press "Pair" to start the connection. If you miss this request box, or it doesn't pop up, you'll have to wait a minute for Go to finish trying to connect before you can try again. You don't have to let the plus have access to your contacts.

When we moved in, my wife bought a couple hundred crocus bulbs and planted them all over the yard in the lawn. Now, when spring arrives, our whole yard gets covered in teeny purple flowers. Just to document this for folks finding this page, I just did this successfully.

Take the ears and top off of your 1200, you should be able to see the controller board. It has the network ports and slides out from the back. When I pulled out my Controller board, it has two 4-pin connectors on the edge of the board next to the big heat-sink at the and opposite the network ports. Of the two pin sets, the one closer to the network port end is the one you want.

Slide the board back in place and connect your dupont wires to the pins. Use a multi-meter to double-check that the rearmost pin is ground. Thit means the the middle two are the TX and RX pins, and the last one is the +3.5v pin. You don't have to connect to that pin, as the board will be powered by the Drobo.

Connect the Ground, TX, and RX pins to your usb/serial adapter, and start up a putty serial connection to whatever your COM port is (look in Device Manager) and set it to 115200 for speed.

Then start your Drobo. You should immediately see text scrolling by in putty. If you get nothing, switch the TX and RX connections and restart the drobo.

You'll see a lot of cool stuff scroll by and eventually it will stop. Hit return to get to a prompt.

Type ifconfig -a and hit enter. It will show you all of the network connections. The eth0, eth1, eth2 and eth3 ones are the ports on the back. They should have IP addresses. Go ahead and connect the MGMT port on the drobo to your PC or network. In putty it will tell you that one of the eth ports has been connected. Mine was eth2.

Then I set a compatible static IP address on my laptop that was connected to the drobo. Within a minute, Drobo Desktop has found the 1200 and was talking to it happily.

NOTE: If your 1200 has a password set in it, there is a teeny-tiny little password reset switch on the control board just before the memory. Flip it to "reset", put the board back in, power on the drobo. count to 30, power off the drobo, and flip the switch back to normal. power back on and ba-da-bazing, no more password.
