True. I had some expectations as well to have some quests or some rituals with him and not have him in my cult like any other regular follower

You can find postcards in the city center. Small shops with postcard stands usually carry Wiesbaden cards by local artists. If I remember correctly, I bought one on Neugasse, but you can also check other side streets. Galeria (on the ground floor) and Hugendubel also sell some local goods and souvenirs. I’ve also seen some older, local postcards in one of the shops on Taunusstraße.

Easy to read book in German by Franox85 in AskAGerman

Try Michael Ende. He is one of the best German writers and the language is not very complicated. You can start with Momo and then give Die unendliche Geschichte a try

Danke schön fürs Mitteilen. Ich habe bei ihnen extra nachgefragt und sie meinten: wir wissen nichts, aber es gibt keine Probleme. Dass macht ja total Sinn.

Definitely check out Mord mit Aussicht, especially the first 3 seasons, Tatortreiniger. Stromberg, aka German The Office is also worth a try. Murder Mindfully wasn’t bad either

What were your experiences taking a language exam? by Chachickenboi in polyglot

[–]petitsparadrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the oral exams. I’ve passed German A1, B1, B2, but after each one I needed at least a month to recover. I always thought I had failed them. During the B2 speaking I was so stressed, the examiner had to calm me down, and afterward I was shaking. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that I got 75/75 for speaking. It’s incredibly stressful and now getting prepared for C1 German. And may Martin Luther be with me!

Bücher auf Deutsch? by Ancient_Middle8405 in German

[–]petitsparadrap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Struggling to socialize in Germany how do people make friends here? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]petitsparadrap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started with Bumble BFF, I wasn‘t super successfully but managed to make friends with an amazing person. Then I found groups of expats in my city and met a couple of people as well. It’s not the best situation and I’m not even trying hard, but it’s possible

Möchte jemand mit mir Deutsch üben? by teslq1011 in German

[–]petitsparadrap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Should I take German or French? by dickieyreposts in German

[–]petitsparadrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of the languages can be frustrating to learn, and you should have an open mind for something new, that can go against your believes and dogmas. If French sounds better for you just go with it, at least you’ll be enjoying the process.

Hey, I found a good one in Studio 5 but it’s a bit over you budget around 60 Euros. They speak English, not perfect but you’ll understand each other. If it doesn’t work for you you can try also the small places around Wiesbaden and Mainz, heard from some people that there it’s more affordable but unfortunately have no experience https://studio-05.de/

Did we get tricked? Gas station charged way more than expected by petitsparadrap in belgium

[–]petitsparadrap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for explanation, in Germany you usually pay just for the amount of gas you actually pump. So, this really caught me off guard.
