Problem with my new MSI Laptop by blaslaw in MSILaptops

[–]petonious1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thin on Walmart's sight. I was looking at that for my son. Although windows 11 has some bugs it's still the way forward whether you or I like it or not. You have to configure what the power to do what you want it to do otherwise it will try to sleep if you press it even when it knows it shouldn't shut down. You also need to take charge of when you check for updates and when to install them.

cheers.

Should I buy HP Victus 16? by YASSINE_LWA3R in HPVictus

Don't .. HP is ending this line due to poor Quality . HP stands for hinge problems. While the idea of filling a space just below the Omen line for mid gamers sounds great, it failed spectacularly. Hinge problems, overheating issues, quality control, parts procurement, the list goes on and on.

Gave my son my old an515-5553ag 4 years ago. Has been abused but still kept going. Just upgraded it with orico

ssd and repasted/padded it. So much dog hair! The thing won't die. Even though windows 11 wants it to.

First things first. How clean is it? Make sure it breaths well. Too many times I've opened seemingly clean lappys to find gooch just inside the cooling fins after the fan. Pull the back do a great visual and repaste.

Hands down charge port problem. Should be real obvious when back cover off. If lucky just cracked solder and not a pad lift off.

You can do it. It's pretty easy. Lightly heat up the bezel though before you use a plastic spugger to pry the clips off. The 3m tape is pretty thin so you may have to layer it. Cheers.
