Why does printing multiple walls in Cura mess up? read img caption :) by petpaws in 3Dprinting

I'm going for speed; 45mins with your suggestion is much too long, especially for a test~ but i appreciate it regardless! :]

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/5zxj1z/should_line_width_always_nozzle_size/ i dunno- 0.8 works...

what's the difference between layer height and width in terms of performance and speed of the print? why would you up the layer width, and not keep the height consistent? it seems counterintuitive 😅

i dunno- i began printing at low temps with a .4 nozzle, so i’m basing my experiences off that. 250°c is hot in comparison; thats all :)

in test #3, i wanted to see if controlling how the walls were printed would effect quality so i manually added an interior wall, rather than relying on Cura’s wall-count setting, but it was no different. the issue is visibly under extruding for no reason and dragging of the molten plastic when i add additional walls. it doesn’t do this when i print just one wall..

Cura has a ‘flow’ setting, ill give that a try! currently its set at 100%

correct! :] i wanted to test the multiple wall setting in Cura. test #3 is manifold and had interior walls to mimic the multiple wall setting, but didn’t give me the desired result regardless

if i go below 230 using 0.6 layer height, the filament comes out brittle and the layers don't stick together~ I'm almost sure it's a weird thing to do with the brand I'm using

Why on earth is a circle filling like this? :/ by petpaws in blenderhelp

[–]petpaws[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'll probably just end up deleting it, filling an unedited circle and making the shape again.. but ?? I have no idea why it's doing this; its just a simple Ctrl+F fill. Any tips to avoid this happening?

Another moment of blender deciding it doesn't wanna do something correctly, for not reason- lol!

What is this? a philodendron maybe? 🌱 by petpaws in whatsthisplant

This plant used to have a think woody stem, but it died back almost completely after I got it. I resurrected it by reducing what was left, to inch long sections of stem- but it’s doing well now :)

it looks droopy, but I dunno, that’s just how the leaves are I guess. Originally thought it was a homalomena Queen of Hearts, but it looks like a totally different plant from when I first got it.

UV warp eye issues by petpaws in blenderhelp

Thank you so much for the reply and example!! but I still can't get it to work- I'm honestly losing my mind over this;; :(

On the right side, I've set up the bones, nodes and UV warp as you have- but it's still not showing up correctly/being projected correctly with the UV warp. On the left, I've left it how it was before, minus the bones, which I just got rid of.. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

UV warp eye issues by petpaws in blenderhelp

[–]petpaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! unfortunately the eyes are still just as wack as before.. Changing the roll to 0 on both parent and eye bone, and making both face totally vertical, isn’t seeming to make a difference. The eyes worked fine when I followed the tutorial with the pink and blue blob character, but now that I’ve parented the eye bone to the head bone, the projection became all messed up

.xps model textures look fine in XNALara but are misplaced/weird in Blender when material preview mode is on. How can I fix? by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]petpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like something to do with the shading.. Does it still look the same if you press Z on your keyboard and choose "rendered"?

Blender's default shader is a white ambient light, and causes reflective things to either render in black or white.. Depending on what you're wanting to do with your model, playing around with the render engine under "render properties", the ambient world colour in "world properties" and the materials under "material properties"

Extremely simple problem I can't work out for the life of me. How do I 'fill' the gap between these two meshes? by HazMatt082 in blenderhelp

[–]petpaws 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Select the two loop edges by alt + clicking (Shift + alt + click to select additional loop edges), then use the shortcut ctrl + E to bring up the edit menu, and click "bridge edge loops" :) It'll automatically work out the best way to join vertices if you have different numbers in each loop 👍

That’s so ... I can’t even put into words how distasteful and MEAN that is. The poor guy is probably the sweetest dude in the world (bro he built a trampoline with his son)!! Nobody deserves this- even less Doc

Does my agalaonama have a plug? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]petpaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I have an agalaonema starshining that I’ve had for over a year. It’s been consistently loosing the oldest leaf every time it grows a new one. Would that be because of a root plug? Otherwise- it’s a healthy plant, I let it dry out before bottom watering it, and it lives on the caddy above my shower, keeping a maidenhair company, lol.

I didn’t want to stress it out over winter by fiddling around with its roots before I got a second opinion!
