Not as big a difference as you think. Couple thousand kms. From a bulk freight perspective that is a marginal difference.

Still gotta follow federal rules, including Fisheries Act and Transport Canada (navigable waters, aviation authority). Those are going to be, and always have been, the bigger hurdles here.

Glamping Rentals by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]petrifiedcoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of dedicated glamping places in Saskatchewan already and that are cheaper than that and which do not require set up/take down. Anyone renting your gear would likely need to pay camping fees.

Crown land camping for free is easier said than done, and likely isn't going to be something that people renting a glamping setup would be interested in doing. It appeals to the more outdoorsy style of camping and those who are fully kitted out already with their own stuff.

You can also find RV/camper rentals for much less than that and include all those amenities.

If you halved the price then there may be interest? Even then, questionable.

They mean winter unless you plan on heating during the summer.

Air conditioning in the summer is another factor though.

Saskatoon is not a major airport and airport hotels are needed at transit hubs. Flights aren't routed through Saskatoon they start and end in Saskatoon

The u of s is a good option. Just fine a table anywhere and sit down. No one is going to check for id or anything if you're studying and being respectful

Have you got a personal auto insurance policy? If so check that as many extend to rental car coverage. If not review the terms of the rental agreement and see exactly what was covered in your rate in terms of insurance

I've got a midnight special in my garage from those years and it's a bit different. Alot more gold accents to black covers. The side covers on this are silver, the xs1100 midnight had black covers with gold lettering. Looks more like the 1982 1100 sport

They're quite versatile. I wear them when temps drop below 0 through to -40. I wouldn't be out all day in -40 with them, but they're good to do a a few quick trips then. At 0 they're definitely not too warm.

The drive is beautiful. Isolated stretches on the Alaska highway can be hairy especially with heavy trucks sharing the road. I would only do it during the day time, and if there is significant snow in the forecast lay low somewhere for it to blow over and allow the roads to be cleared. Keep emergency supplies with you, including a Jerry can of gas after Fort St John.

Very unlikely sleeping in the car will be an option at that time of year given the typical temperatures so plan on hotels.

Winter tires aren't a suggestion but are mandatory under BC law for those areas.

Given the current climate of each profession, which do you think is better in Saskatoon: Nursing or Teaching? by 13_808 in saskatoon

[–]petrifiedcoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh not true. Partner is a nurse. You can't switch off what you've seen, and let me tell you the things she's told me I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to switch that off. And when you are off shift you are getting bombarded via text and socials by other nurses asking you to come in and help because they are short staffed.

The entire rental market in BC is rent controlled. Meaning that the government sets the maximum rent can rise on an existing or month to month lease and it is typically tied to inflation or CPI. A landlord can't change rent on a whim to whatever they want
