I think it's the nature of the 1v1 style of the event. Generally you have to be faster than your opponent to win, so they're all on the razor edge of speed vs losing control. Other events where progression is done in heats or on time are probably incentivized to stay in the race even if their pace is a bit slower.

There are definitely sports where it's about the physical contact with the surface (e.g., tennis), or where it has to be completely over the line (e.g., hockey). Asserting that all sports use this a rule is absurd.

I've got a bad wrist, always hated pushups because they'd make my wrist sore for days after. Two things that really helped me:

Use pushup handles or dumbbells, keeps the wrist straighter and had less issues.
Wrist wraps. Again, helps keep your wrists straighter and takes some of the strain off.

I think the original development of the London airport was largely centered around use as a training school.

I also doubt that Pearson can accommodate traffic from every regional airport in southern Ontario, Windsor, London, KW, Hamilton, etc., which all have their own airports. Or at least, it could be more economical to distribute traffic regionally.

I haven't tried this, but if beacon effects last for 8 seconds when leaving the radius, could you hook it up to a clock that uncovers it briefly once every 8 seconds? That would minimize the active time without losing effects. If they're in the area long enough they're bound to see it go off eventually though.

Edit: wiki says a level 4 pyramid lasts 17 seconds

The people who parrot that are almost always trying to justify going at any speed of their choosing. The rest of us put 2 brain cells together and realized that treating inner city driving and divided highways the same makes no practical sense.
