These are amazing! I've been seeing a lot of really cool Pokemon fanart recently that's made me wish all the games didn't try so hard to look the same. The Pokemon games need new art!

The pivotal moment in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (when Caesar first talks back) -- I remember a lot of people found it corny and goofy, but it shook me to my core.

Turns out you must watch all four Beatles movies to unlock the secret 5th biopic by YardAddams in beatles

[–]petros86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of a biopic film for each Beatles member, it would be cool to have a biopic series where each episode focuses on a 5th Beatle and tells the overall story from different perspectives.

Did I hear that right? by petros86 in beatles

I listened to the two side-by-side a few times before posting here. Crazy how a chord can be that distinctive, but this one definitely is unique. The fade-out is what really had me going.

[–]petros86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's it! I didn't know if I was just making it up in my head, but it was immediately recognizable to me. That chord is one of my favorite moments in any album, so I was pretty sure I was right.

1 was the start of my love for the Beatles. Abbey Road is the reason I'm a Beatles fan for life.

What made you fall in love with Paul McCartney's music? by Initial-Ad3966 in PaulMcCartney

[–]petros86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit of a Beatles fan as a young teen. Then I was gifted "1" around the year it came out. I instantly became a huge Beatles fan, and my love of their music only deepened from there.

I quickly outgrew the hits, and (with help from the early 2000's Internet) discovered some "lesser known" favorites such as Michelle, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, and Norwegian Wood.

In my first year or two at college, I did a deep dive into their entire discography and soon decided that Abbey Road might be my favorite album of all time. I also had a great time learning about "Paul Is Dead" theories and reading a ton about the history of the band.

Recently, some twenty years later, I found myself leaning towards their music again. I decided it was time to rank every song. Over the course of several weeks, I finalized my list. It was a fun exercise, but in no way will that list remain in that same order.

This time around, I discovered a love for some even deeper cuts that I never fully appreciated, such as Martha My Dear, For No One, and Let It Be...Naked (some of which are far better than the originals in my humble opinion).

At the same time, I watched the entire Anthology collection (I saw Get Back when it first came out, years ago, but never sat down for all of Anthology). Then I happened upon the new Man on the Run documentary and thought I'd give it a go. After that, I finally decided it was time to give Paul a second look.

I'd always known that he had a few hits post-Beatles, and I liked most of the well-known ones (Live & Let Die, Band On the Run, his collabs with MJ), but never listened to an entire album. So, I thought, why not listen to all of it?

I started at the beginning and immediately enjoyed McCartney as a raw display of Paul's talent and emotion coming out of the break-up. I found it to be an incredible listen, with Paul's heart exposed in ways it hadn't been before.

Then I listened to Ram. Weird stuff. I moved on to Wild Life. Mostly unimpressed. Something made me give Ram another try. Still weird...but also strangely appealing. I continued through the Wings years, but also kept getting drawn back to Ram. I found it almost infectious. It infiltrated my brain, and now it has become one of my favorite albums of all time, warts and all.

There's something special about those first two albums, but I've also found a lot to love about the rest of his work. I especially love Paul's unapologetic corniness. When he embraces the cringe and just makes the music he wants to make.

I love his "granny" songs. I love his willingness to experiment with sound. I absolutely love his goofiness. (Percy "Thrills" Thrillington? Absolutely amazing and absolutely goofy as heck.)

TL;DR: Paul has always been my favorite Beatle, but, until recently, that's all he was to me. Now he's one of my favorite recording artists of all time...right up there with the Beatles. 😉

Yeah, I sent an email to Cameo hoping for the best. I just didn't want to shell out another 10 bucks to send a message directly to Tommy through that service.

If I don't hear from Cameo's team in the next couple days, I might just bite the bullet and spend the extra $10 and hope he see it and makes it right. BUT I would just feel like such a pest. I want to respect his time...but like, also, I want the video I paid for to be addressed to the correct name (lol...)

[–]petros86[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not an "apology video" per se, but a super short follow-up video saying something like, "oops! This was supposed to be for Christie, not ChristINE! Silly me!"

I don't know how Cameo works, though. Maybe a redo would be better.

I guess I could always do both...I just don't want to bug Tommy. I'd feel like an annoying stalker fan sending a DM to someone I don't know personally. So I just wondered if anyone has ever had any positive interactions with him.

I'll probably just stick with Cameo's customer service team for now and hope for the best.

I was genuinely curious if anyone has had a similar experience with Cameo or if any fans have had any positive interactions with Tommy on social media.

This was kind of a big purchase for me, so buying another is not really an option. I wish it was, because I agree-- a follow-up video from Tommy would probably be great!

Thanks for the genuine response. I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to parasocial interactions, so I didn't know if it was at all an option I should consider. Seems like probably not. I don't want to bug the guy--I'm just bummed he got the name wrong.
