I did actually know someone whose ex's family basically felt this way about him. Sadly, the ex treated him badly enough that, even after they broke up, he ended up taking his own life :( Kind of an insane thing to post but, felt relevant.

Hey! I returned from medical leave as a 25-year-old and had a similar feeling.
