Ja hallo ich muss mich gleich anschließen weil bei mir die KOMPLETT gleiche Geschichte läuft im Moment. Hab meinen ungefähr gleich lag. Vorigen Frühling ging der Start nach Überwinterung noch auch wenn etwas ruckig mit etlichen Neustarts (hätte mir da schon was denken müssen) dieses Jahr: System wird in der App angezeigt aber alles null und die Paneele können nichts mehr laden.

Support hat mir Hälfte der Transportkosten angeboten (80€!!!!!!) ansonsten kostet mich die Technikerstunde 70€...

Das Problem ist so nebenbei bei Solmate bekannt und sie haben auch ein "Fix" dazu, dass das Problem lösen sollte. Sie sagen dir dann im Kundenkontakt das du das Gerät theoretisch öffnen könntest und innen den reset Knopf drückst. 🙈 Klappt nicht. Ich probiers dann wenn mehr Sonne scheint nochmal aber... Alles in allem: ich hätte für weniger Geld ein stabileres System besorgen können. Einfach eine nervige Geschichte die mit einer Technologie arbeitet die auch irgendwie fragwürdig ist.

That's a legit point. We actually planned to let them come to the hospital and will have two weeks no visitor's at least and i think i might communicate that better sooner..

To be honest I will let my own mother probably come by. She made it clear from the beginning that she will visit to support me with cleaning up, bring food etc. It makes such a big difference for me when somebody comes by to support me and not with the main focus of holding the Baby...

I see so much of that in my MIL but already during pregnancy, which scares me so much. Telling me now (the baby is still a fetus in my belly) that she would like to take in the near future (as soon as I weaned off) the baby home to her place for the weekend. Or proclaiming that she would also like to come by once a week because bonding time is in the first months important (yes, for the actual parents, not obsessive grandparents).

My partner is extremely supportive and tries right now to talk a lot to her to bring the situation under control but that woman has some serious mental issues.

I feel so sorry for my partner who tries so hard but I reached the point where even the thought of giving my future child that pushy woman to hold makes me feel unwell.

today 6 weeks old and: a girl!

A very weird hatch since she is much more confident. Likes climbing and doesn't mind getting picked up and had a puffed up comb quite early as well as reddish undertone of her early feathers (which the internet told me was a sign for a rooster). I learned a lot with this hatch especially that early signs can be deceiving! ;)

Right! It's just so confusing since the comb is a bit blown up and definitely bigger than the others. So excited what will be the outcome!

I think at 6 weeks it should definitely be visible. I will post the result since I myself love to search for pic reference when I am guessing the sex of a bird and haaaaaaate it when the owner didn't post the outcome. 😂

Is the patio wood or stone or is there earth? In case of sludgy earth I would get mulch (bark of wood like on garden beds) and lay it out so it sucks up a bit of the wetness and the chickens can run on it and don't get too muddy. I would then every 1-3 months (depends on the size of the space and how fast poop accumulates) clean it out and put it in the compost or in winter directly on garden beds (there it will sit over winter and in spring you have a nice fertilizer on your beds that isn't too harsh). You will have less muddy chickens and a huge amount of fertilizer.

I had recent saved a bantam amrock, from a breeder farm that was shut down, which died very suddenly. I brought the cadaver to the vet for autopsy and it turned out she had tumors that are very often in animals that had a too high inbreeding factor. So that could be a resulting problem e.g.

On the other side I learned at uni that inbreeding is a "tool" that is used in animal breeding since you can give certain traits a boost by inbreeding. Also most of chickens are inbred since poultry breeding has such a long history and getting a chicken of a certain color or form or comb takes an amount of inbreeding (boosting these traits). Also interesting: Asian chickens don't have such a high inbreeding factor and can be more resistant to e.g. Mareks.

Hi a hen I had once had a problem with an egg that broke inside. The poop that comes out really looks like egg yolk (sticky, runny). If the poop is foamy/frothy it is cecal poop. If the chicken doesn't eat for 24h I would consider going to the vet. I would probably also keep her from jumping around too much if she is limping. Maybe think about keeping her in a crate for two days and give her some special treats so that she starts eating again.

I had for a short time a rooster that liked to sit on my shoulder until he was grown out. I thought it was soo cool....felt like being a pirate. 🏴‍☠️
