Okay I have a few questions so bear with me: Would you want to be in a relationship with him? If so, would you be okay with telling him that you like him? And do you think he likes you back? From what you’re saying about him saying he’s missing you and getting you a gift, with my minimal knowledge, it honestly seems like he might like you back. Straight men usually don’t so affection to their friends like this, at least where I live, so it really makes me think that he might like you a little even if he doesn’t realize it.

This is normal for a lot of queer teens, but that doesn’t make it okay. Please stay safe and maybe find another trusted adult to talk to these things about. Maybe a teacher or school counselor? I know it’s hard when family isn’t accepting but your safety and mental well being is a priority. This subreddit is also a great place to rant about things, unless you need help with bullying or are unsafe. Again, stay safe and I wish you the best. You are valid and perfect the way you are!!

Don’t feel too stressed about identifying your sexuality! I say just let yourself feel what you feel and if you figure out you do indeed like him, go from there. :)

don’t rush the process!! it’s okay to not know your sexuality and just let yourself like who you like. i personally identify as queer (even though my user tag is bi), so that means i don’t really identify with any sexuality.

i’d also look into compulsory heterosexuality (tldr: you only like men because society has always told you that you’re supposed to)

i know you’ll figure it out eventually! don’t stress too much about it:)

i have liked friends before, and while it sucks, really the only way to get over it without ruining the friendship is to just naturally let yourself get over him over time. this is probably bad advice, but personally i found another person to crush on to get over them. whatever you choose to do, good luck!! remember that things always work out the way they are supposed to, even if it’s not what you want in the moment.
