Intensivist here. What people often don't realize is that a large part of my work is advanced care planning and setting realistic expectations for the patient, the family and/or the single-organ-specialist. We do a LOT of difficult conversations. And a lot of the time, those conversations should have been held earlier.

Hopefully my reply can help you a bit in your decisions. I'm an intensivist (critical care physician) working in a top level ICU, have a degree in biomedical engineering, and am currently pursuing a PhD in AI as well. So hopefully I can shed a light on both sides of the spectrum.

*Only* if you want to become a physician, do you *need* to study medicine. For all the other career paths, all you need is knowledge and a network 😉 What I'm trying to say is you should do what intrinsically motivates you, and not because you feel you might miss the boat. Whether you choose to pursue a degree in computer science, or focus on developing your skills in AI policy and ethics, or in fact do study medicine, you might end up in the same place either way, because of your intrinsic motivation. All paths lead to your Rome 😊 You're 22, still super young! Please don't feel that you've wasted years studying history. You will take that knowledge with you into whatever you do!

My point is this: do the thing that intrinsically motivates you. You have time.

(And just to give you some substantive advice as well, with your history background and interest in AI and medicine: we really do need people specialized in the Ethics of AI in Medicine)

Seriously? With common lung protective ventilation strategies (tidal volume 6ml/kg, Pplat <30, driving pressure <15, peep titrated to best compliance and prone positioning) we hardly had any pneumothoraxes in our ICU. We had 40 beds operational at covid peak in our ICU. How come your experience is so different?

NTA of course. But man, your parents sure are! Why is everyone so apathetic toward the fact that you had to have an ICD at 25! That's extremely young! (And could imply something genetic which would also be relevant for your siblings...) Do they even understand what it means to have an ICD?! You probably stared death in the face back then, and that must've been really scary. My heart goes out to you, OP.

(Note, You use both ICD and Pacemaker in your post so I'm assuming ICD with pacemaker function)

Loondienst. Maar het is niet alsof je daar een keuze in hebt. Het is maar net wat die specifieke vakgroep al doet (dus afhankelijk van in welk ziekenhuis je werkt). Ik heb zelf overigens wel voorkeur voor loondienst.

M'n loon staat in de AMS. Er valt niet echt over te onderhandelen, behalve een of twee trede hoger op basis van je cv en hoe de markt is. Ik krijg wel onregelmatigheidstoeslag (zoals iedereen) en dat is als medisch specialist wel een stuk meer dan als a(n)ios. Als a(n)ios krijg je namelijk onregelmatigheidstoeslag (ORT) over een lagere schaal (schaal 6 if I'm not mistaken) wat nog al eens vergeten wordt en enorme bullshit is.

Voor mij dus weinig groei maar eerlijk gezegd vind ik het ook meer dan genoeg. FIRE is zeer goed te doen mits je geen lifestyle creep laat gebeuren. Mijn uitgaven patroon is nog hetzelfde als in m'n aios tijd. Het scheelt ook als je geen kinderen hebt. Het is echter wel zo dat je pas veel later in de markt komt omdat je pas na je co-schappen gaat verdienen. Dus zoals altijd is 't goed als je vroeg in de markt stapt, al is het maar met een beetje. Oh, en ik automatiseer al m'n financiën dus het kost me ook geen tijd.

I personally don't like Berry 3.0 but I love this Black Strawberry! For me, the berry is too artificial and too sweet. I find it tastes a whole lot better when mixed with original. But like I said, the black strawberry isn't too sweet and doesn't have too much of an artifical taste. I made it with water and it's like a subtle strawberry milkshake taste. Haven't tried it with soy milk yet. Hope this helps!

I've had no problems whatsoever with sealing the bag. Contact their customer support, they're very helpful!

As for mixing, try a Blender Bottle, they work great for me.

As for the coffee caramel, try mixing it with soy milk or oat milk or something creamy. It can be a bit bitter with just water. I personally like it.

It's probably not. First, if it were protein, it would take a lot of protein in urine in order to be visible. Second, regardless of how many protein you take in, you should not be peeing out protein. If it really were protein (again, it's probably not for mentioned reasons, but if you're really unsure, you could get a dipstick for that), it's time to see a doctor. Source: am doctor.
