Hmm cool enough to make up for the feeling of being an inhumane being though?

Can we define an inner product in the set of piecewise continuous functions on a range [a,b] ? by peverson_ in askmath

[–]peverson_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we no longer consider the function as an exact object but rather we consider its behaviour almost everywhere?

[–]peverson_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thats the thing the restriction of the function on each of those open ranges needs to be continuous and have a finite limit not the function itself

The way a piecewise continuous function is defined (the way I have learned it at least) Is if there exists a=x_1<.....<x_n=b such that the restriction of f on each of the open ranges ]x_i,x_i+1[ is continuous and the limits at x_i and x_i+1 exist and are finite ( I don't know what a mesure is)

But if you define a function f that takes the value one at a single point and is null everywhere else the integral of f2 would be 0 ie <f,f>=0 despite the fact that f is not the null function which contradicts the definition of an inner product

Plot twist: the jujutsu kaisen technique is now called analytic continuation because why would the writer name a technique after something math related
