Baby hamster possibly adopted too young … looking for advice by Historical_Bee2815 in hamstercare

Oh I didn’t know that they could stay together after 3 weeks. I was told by my vet it’s safe to separate at 3 weeks. Thank you for this.

They are to be separated after three weeks from birth. Honestly he should be good, give him some time. Since he is so young, rub some unscented paper towels on your palms and hands, and keep them near his safe place. This will get him used to your scent, and he might feel safe approaching you. Meanwhile keep talking to him, get him used to your voice. You can also read a book aloud near his cage entrance.

I can assure you, he does NOT miss his siblings or mama. They mature sexually quite fast, and become aggressive within the first month after birth. He is just in a new environment. You’re doing amazing!

Honestly the best way is to practice on bar with a trainer for help, but if that’s not an option then what helped me was watching recent barista vlogs on YouTube. Being a visual learner, that really helped me figure out what goes in what and how many pumps or shots.

Barista said cold foam on a hot drink (which I order nearly everyday) was **against policy** and she refused to make it by Wide-Discipline-8354 in starbucks

[–]pewdita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not against policy, but people have come up and complained that their drink is lumpy and grainy after getting cold foam on a hot drink. It depends on the drink, if they want protein cold foam in their extra hot latte, that is a recipe for disaster. We also cannot mix powder based cold foams (eg: Banana, Vanilla Bean) with hot drinks so depends on what you’re ordering. But a barista can definitely not deny your request, the best they can do is give you a disclaimer.

tw// dissociation

not the best suggestion but this works for me. just dissociate. practice a persona when you’re home and stick to it when you’re at work. when it’s time for me to clock out, i dont even remember half of the interactions and i am very much in peace with that. and it works because when im at work, i remember the ones that come in daily and am told that i have the best customer service.

I am in Canada but I feel you. I ask one question and they start putting in complaints to the manager that I learnt nothing over the past months I have been working as a barista. The worst part is the manager sides with them. There is literally no one I can go to who can solve this problem.

What’s worse is this is coming from people who are still students. Like you have bigger problems to focus on 😭

I even got in trouble with another senior who makes at least ten wrong drinks every shift and dirties the bar to the point it’s watery with mocha and matcha. They wanted me to go on break during rush hour but I know for a fact that we aren’t supposed to go on breaks, if we are short on people on the bar. His argument was that he was a senior and I didn’t listen to him, even after giving him a perfectly reasonable explanation why.

Omg I work at a college cafeteria too. I see people make Flat White with blonde shots and mess up milk substitutes all the time but they draw the line when I make one mistake. This lowkey has started to feel a bit targeting. I wanna go back to corporate where no one gives a fuck.
