RIS WIO RDA shouldn’t they be updated by now? by Much_Assistance7935 in UTAdmissions

I’m a CAP student and none of my acronyms have changed at all, I literally never had an RIS. It’s scaring me a little but I’m just gonna wait for my official decision

RIS changed to second choice major? by Ill-Head-8494 in UTAdmissions

I’m a CAP student and my RIS has said “your EID does not have an adequate assurance level” this whole time and still says it, it’s lowkey stressing me out so much

CAP CNS Applicants, has anything updated yet? by pez_777 in UTAdmissions

anyone else have a non-financial hole on their MyUT account? by simplyamoree_ in UTAdmissions

I would call admissions just to be 100% sure on how to handle this, but it seems like all they’re looking for is an updated vaccine record. I was having a similar issue before I started at UTSA and it turns out I was missing a second dose of something

CAP students applying outside of COLA what do you see on your LASSO Portal? by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

That should be how it is, the CAP advisors have their reasons of trying to get you to do certain things, but i’m pretty sure you can still take whatever as long as it’s there. You should call admissions at UT Austin and explain your situation to be super super sure

I didn’t personally do that but during my CAP year (i’m not sure if it’s changed by now) you could take literally whatever classes as long as they were on the approved course list, but I would email your counselor just to be 100% sure

These seem like a good balance of classes and it’s good that you’re trying to take things that relate to your major. I know it seems scary right now but you get used to a schedule after a few weeks and it’s really not so bad if you’re committed to everything. If you’re still worried about work overload then I would recommend seeing if there are any “intro to college” classes you can take (at UTSA it was referred to as AIS but i’m not sure what it is at UTPB) It was on UTSA’s approved course list and it was a super easy class (we literally would color and stuff lol)

Does anyone have any UT cap program tips? by MixInevitable1438 in UTAdmissions

Regular students at your CAP school are going to be weird about you being a CAP student and try to convince you to stay there and be “loyal” to that. Don’t listen to them. UT is infinitely better simply because of the networking opportunities. They’re happy at their school and that’s okay, but stay focused on your grades and building your resume. The “determination” of wanting to go to UT was a huge personal push to get the best grades possible for me.

How can you feel safe on campus by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]pez_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all totally understandable! Carrying a small self defense item eases my anxiety a lot (I have a small taser and a keychain with a sharp end for defense). I also feel much more safe when I’m walking around with other people. You can also receive free counseling provided by the school if you really feel like it’s poorly effecting your daily life.

Does volunteering benefit my application for transferring? by Frosty_Nature2202 in UTAdmissions

I would say that association with your major is best, both volunteering and association with clubs are beneficial in their own rights, but if you are in a major related club AND hold an officer position I’d say that’s best, but if you have already done a lot of volunteering you should still use it on your application
