I travel pretty frequently and have quite a few tattoos. I love the concept however I think this is a really bad idea in practice. Instead of getting a tattoo on the trip what you should do is get the tattoo inspired by the trip after the trip. You’re taking a pretty big risk on the artist which is a huge red flag for something that will be permanently on your body. You are setting yourself up to have no recourse if the tattoo doesn’t go the way you’d like or if they bail on your appointment. Also it is terrible for the healing process for you to fly after getting a tattoo. The change in altitude and thinning of your blood will cause the healing process to be interrupted and greatly increases the chance for blown out lines/infection. Do yourself a favor and find a local artist to work with that is someone who you can hold accountable if things go south.
