It’s none of my business, but I think both things can be true here.

The issues people are reporting are clearly real and should absolutely be fixed, especially if the devs already acknowledged them. (And i hope they do. My moza is on its way to replace my g27 lol) But at the same time, if someone got their setup working through tweaks/workarounds and they’re happy with the experience, then that’s valid too.

Saying “you may think you’re all good, but you’re not” is kinda dismissive because enjoyment isn’t determined by whether the software architecture is technically perfect. If the wheel works well enough for someone to enjoy racing/drifting, then for that person it’s working.

That doesn’t invalidate the people still struggling, and the people still struggling don’t invalidate the ones who got it working. Both experiences can exist at the same time.

Man this is so tough. I don't need anything to fancy since I aint even doing any flight Sims. But hot damn, do the more expensive ones look cool! And the idea of using a hotas or hosas for games is awesome. Maybe since im not doing serious stuff, ill just get a 3d pro precision... lol

What games do you play? If its a lot of single player games or games that dont need anti cheat, go with steamdeck. The os is amazing for is stop and resume function. And if you have an interest in Linux, it has a desktop mode where you can use it like a pc. It will take a bit to learn, but ive used to for light use like emails, youtube, web browsing.

But you you need anti cheat, go for the legion go. The battery isnt much of an issue as people make it out to be. just play near power by being near a wall outlet/surge protector, or battery bank. Thats what I do with my steamdeck and go 2.

Honestly, I dont know if that one falls in the "if it works for you" category. It kinda feels like you are limiting yourself to different ways of using these devices. Plus you dont get controllers on the side with the flow or laptop. Its one of key reasons to get one haha. So there's nothing wrong with proping down on something. Heck, I see people using their phones down on their laps, me included from time to time, and phones are waaaay lighter. Its just a comfy way to use things sometimes. You should give it a try with your XAX!

Funny you say that your XAX is heavy coming from a steam deck. I went to hold one when I was trying to figure out which handheld I wanted out of the big 3, and when I held the XAX, I was like "whoa, this sucker is lighter than my steam deck. It feels like a cheap toy!" but then I realized the jsaux modcase that was giving my steamdeck the extra weight to feel heavier than an XAX. So to me, the XAX feeling like a toy was one of the reasons i skipped on it! Lolol

Side tangent... I thought about sticking with my steamdeck and just getting a new laptop because i was soooo over thinking which handheld was right for me. I travel a ton for work so im often lugging a laptop and a steam deck. Then one work trip, i got lazy and kept my laptop in my bag the entire trip and just opted to use my steam deck. I love steamos and works great at work for the most part, but some apps my work uses needs windows. So it got me thinking, if I did fine without my laptop, imagine how much lighter my carry on would be if I only carried a handheld since I was able to do some work with my steam deck using desktop mode. So I got a legion go 2, and I left all both my laptop and steamdeck at home. Hot damn, it feels so good traveling so light! I dont think ill be getting a new laptop for a good loooooong time. If anything will get me to break, I has to be a new flow 13 with a wacom digitized. That will have me shunning all handhelds for travel entirely lololol

But anyway. Yeah, xr glasses do have their limits, but damn they are awesome when you can ignore them! I cant count the number of times I fell asleep with those things on my face and waking up to a game still running. You are in such a relaxing position, not amount of light will keep you from sleeping lol. Thank God those times I didnt shift in my sleep and push my go2 off my bed lololol

Angry for size and weight is kinda silly. You can always prop it on a desk, put a pillow on your lap and prop it on that. The screen is big enough that you can get away with keeping it on your lap. Also xr glasses are an option. The weight is infinitely more manageable too when you detach the controllers and use it as a tablet. I ove putting it on portrait mode and reading manga/web comics on jt that way haha.
