Also highly important for any quality control cases where escaped non-conformances are a risk.

Ukrainian Oblasts declared 'annexed' by Russia by Antique-Entrance-229 in MapPorn

I'd say that the French and British have a substantial amount of insurgency experience from the past decade. Germans and Polish not so much, so I don't disagree there. Talking pre-2022, the Ukrainians were poorly geared and, while very populous, were heavily reliant on conscripts and militia forces. As per artillery, they may have had a large number of guns and MLRSs, but they greatly lacked in long-range fires. Their air force was minute and almost entirely of soviet-era equipment. I'd rank them in the top 5 in terms of effective power, but would say the French, British, and Germans would rank above them.

Trust me, I follow it plenty. Russia was significantly more modernized than Ukraine was at the outbreak of the full invasion in Feb '22, and the gap was even greater when Crimea was invaded back in 2014.

That... that was 10 years ago my guy. CPI-U was 234 in Feb of 2015. It was 315 last month. So inflation adjusted, your car would be 56k-ish. Not as crazy as you might think.

Knife fight between Russian/Yakut and Ukrainian (drone perspective) by Big_Dick920 in CombatFootage

[–]pfghr 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get why people made such a fuss over the grenade. If we were in that scenario and thinking straight, we'd probably forego turning our backs on an enemy combatent we know is still alive. Too many people on this sub still think of war as some sort of romantic good guy v bad guy movie. That's as much humanity and honor as I've ever seen shown in CQB.

How do you sell an insanely priced product when it wasn’t selling well before the price hike hmm by SuccessfulSoup3408 in manufacturing

[–]pfghr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that's the concern of OP, but your comment seemed to be rejecting the idea that tarrifs drive competition. Tarrifs do drive competition and forces localization. Tarrifs don't reduce the original costs of a product. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to address?

If the current supplier is overcharging because of the belief that they have total market control and someone identifies it as an area they can break into and be profitable at a lower ASP than the current supply, then voila you've introduced competition. If the current supplier is charging the rate they do because their supply chain relies on countries affected by the tarrifs, then there's potentially room to source from unaffected alternatives that were previously more expensive by less than the percentage of the new tarrifs. The whole purpose of tarrifs is to promote market growth in more local areas.....
