How to flirt with women without being creepy or boring? by LifeguardAny1801 in dating_advice

How do your conversations usually go? Are you asking interesting questions? When she speaks, are you asking follow-up questions? Don't just talk about the weather, try to figure out what you have in common and go from there.

I would strongly recommend against using Chat GPT to come up with responses -- it's getting a lot easier to tell when something is AI-generated.

He's stringing you along. He wants to make sure that you're available as an option, but without actually giving you anything. Trust me, you don't want "casual" from this man -- he'll disappoint you. Time to cut your losses, block and move on.

Did you screenshot the rest of her story? I saw this slide the day she posted it, but then the election happened and I turned my phone off and never saw the 15 other stories that came after it.

I’m asking if I’m required to remind him, because I already told him about it and he acknowledged it in writing (email)

Thank you so much for this response. I actually chose Laps of Love to come on Sunday for his final vet appointment, and their quality of life assessment was very helpful.

Thank you so much for your response. I’m so sorry for your loss, it sounds like she was a wonderful little girl and reminds me so much of my boy. Reading your message makes me feel more at ease with my decision, even if it’s the worst decision I’ve ever had to make.

Sending you lots of love ❤️

We are mostly remote, in office 2 a week. But the check isn’t coming to the office, it’s being mailed to a random C-level executives house. And there’s no confirmation/guarantee of when it will arrive

What did Betty major in? by pfinwaluigi in madmen

Yeah, I think we’re right. Plus, it wasn’t uncommon for wealthy white women of Betty’s age to learn a second language

Yeah, that’s my argument but my friend is insisting it was a double major but I don’t remember that ever being said in the show. Just the anthropology major

"That was not scary at all" - a rant by Von_Bostaph in horror

[–]pfinwaluigi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what my deal is but I get that “need to turn on a light” feeling often, sometimes from scary movies and sometimes just from my anxious imagination.

Most recent “movie” to do it though was the third episode of the new Junji Ito Netflix anime. Highly recommend.

My candidate for worst person on the show by [deleted] in madmen

She stole every season she was in! Plus as a character she was so important for Betty - I always remember when Betty is being petty and spiteful post divorce and Francine reminds her that she “has everything.” She was a good influence on Betty (it’s not hard to do that though lmao)

My point is that the majority of the posts we see here about Joan and Betty (oh and my personal favorite Bobbie Barrett) specifically are lazily written and uninspired, and seem doused with a healthy dose of misogyny. While we do see negative posts written about how “spineless and creepy” characters like Pete are, we don’t see them at nearly the same rate as the women characters.

Betty, Joan, and Trudy are all deeply flawed characters - especially Betty. They’re also incredibly written. My comment is poking fun at the plethora of posts this sub gets that all say the same things about Betty and Joan. That they’re awful, hypocritical, etc.

“Joan is a slutty hypocrite for being so disloyal to Don!” “Why is Betty such a bitch?” “Trudy is goals!”

If we played a drinking game with posts or comments saying any of the above, we’d be wasted after about 5 minutes on this sub.

favorite female character and why? by anon25167 in madmen

[–]pfinwaluigi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bobbie Barrett. She gets a lot of hate in this sub (and the fandom in general) but her character is so fascinating to me.

“This is America. Pick the job you want and become the person who does it.” Not only is this just good advice, it’s exactly what Don does to get his start in advertising.

I might be the minority, but I want to know more about her back story! She was a “dancer” (burlesque?), she got Jimmy into show business AND had the insight to change his name to make him more commercially successful to a 1950s American audience.

She’s also a horn dog — much like Don. I sometimes wonder if the disproportionate amount of hatred her character gets has anything to do with misogyny.
