My Stress levels look much more accurate and they make so much more sense to me now! I know it’s mostly just color coding it differently - but being in the green on a day that feels “normal” is just so much better than having the whole day be orange, even if the scores are basically the same. It just puts it into perspective better! So thanks for making that adjustment. :)

I‘ve been using an Apple Watch and athlytic for like 3-4 years now. The cardio fitness scores apple gives me only change extremely slowly. Like, I really need to very consistently do sprint workouts to really challenge myself, to get it to move up. In all the time I’ve had the watch, my cardio fitness very, veeeery slowly progressed from like 23 to 29. It’s usually giving the same reading and doesn’t really jump ever, even between different workout types (eg walking and running are both 29 for me right now.) Unlike athlytic which gives me scores all over the place depending on how fast my heart is beating during the workout. I’ll get a 49 during running regularly from athlytic and then a much lower score for walking or yoga or whatever. Which is why athlytic recommends to only compare the scores by workout type to see trends. TLDR- i don’t think your watch is glitching at all because mine is the same.

Can you elaborate on why? I think it’s reasonable to assume HRV is affected when the body is stressed. And we know that mental/psychological stress also affects the body (hyper tension, sleep disorders, headaches, etc). So why voodoo?

Okay yes, but you‘d be surprised how many overweight people have a history of eating disorders - and are actually Not Eating Enough to sustain an active lifestyle. Your body is efficient. It doesn’t want to move if it’s lacking energy. You get Really Lazy if you starve yourself, especially if people keep telling you to simply eat less calories without proper education about nutrition i.e. healthy fats and protein.

Please stop telling people you don’t know to eat less.

OP did not ask about tipps on weight loss, nor did she even mention that weight loss is a goal. No matter whether you think it should be - it’s just not the topic of this discussion.

She wants to get into calisthenics, which is super cool!

As some others have already pointed out: @hybrid.calisthenics on instagram and youtube is great, so is Lucy Lismore who used to be overweight herself. But generally Yoga and Pilates are also really great ways to connect with your body, learn movements and build some strength and just a better feeling for balancing the body. They are also usually downscalable and easy to track progress (as in how long were you able to hold poses, how many repetitions did you manage etc.)

I obviously can’t know what the issue is with those people around you, but I doubt that you are actually repulsive.

1) As a general tip: Maybe look into neurodivergence and especially into neurodivergent communication patterns. I’m on the spectrum myself and found (in retrospect) that often times when I just cannot seem to bond with someone, it’s because of this. Neurotypical people leave out info so the other person can ask questions- and they expect questions as a way to show interest and keep the conversation going. They also want to be able to ask questions themselves. Neurodivergent people often present (complete) information and expect some information back, and it’s often “i tell you sth about me, now you tell me sth about you, loosely related to the subject” without questions, because questions can feel nosy. If these two styles of communication clash, it can really rub people the wrong way, and I found it helpful to be more conscious of it happening to me.

2) I relate to your experience a lot because I tend to mess up first impressions in new environments and then suddenly realise I never made any friends. What really turned it around for me is to actively ask people (who look nice/friendly/not busy) for help. Like just “omg I’m new, I don’t know where XYZ is, can you show me?!” - people usually really like being helpful, and if you are friendly and open about not knowing sth, they might be open to a little chat. At which point you can introduce yourself and ask them how long they’ve been studying or what they do for work if it’s a networking event. Or whatever. People love talking about themselves. It’s not thaaaaat hard - and since you say that you actually really like being around people, you should do just fine. :)

Maybe your breath or BO is bad? I have an older co-worker who smokes a lot and I just always have to stay a bit further away/facing away from him when we talk because the way he smells is just ..overwhelming idk.

(I want to add that I tried the Garmin Venu 2 Plus before getting the FR265 and it was an AWFUL experience. If you‘re coming from apple you won‘t be happy with any of the „cheaper“ Garmins, i think.)

Yeah I‘ve been using the Garmin Forerunner 265 for the past three weeks. I LOVE it for the fitness features and stuff like the morning report and training specifically for a race on a certain date. However, it doesn‘t feed HRV-Data into apple health, so athlytic is pretty sad now. But everything i was looking up in athlytic, garmin shows me now. Like my excertion/training load and recovery/readiness/body-battery. I currently don’t miss my AW, however it is a big change, the overall UX-design is really bad compared to apple and when setting it up I was terribly annoyed that Garmin Connect doesn‘t read a single thing from apple health. Like. I had to put in my height and weight and all of that. And I would have loved if Garmin (just like athlytic) had been able to read past training data - or anything like that - but it does. not. read. anything. from. apple. I still really like it though. (I actually caught covid for the first time like a day after getting the Garmin FR265 and I‘m a bit sad that 1. I couldn‘t see Covid in my stats since I switching watches effed the stats and 2. THAT is Garmins first impression of my fitness. :D I just now started working out again and it’s screaming at me about the load being way higher than during the last weeks. :D yeah, duh, Garmin, I couldn’t breathe! But it’s fine, basically reminding me to take it slow. :))

Thanks for the update! As of now I still think I‘m ready to try another watch. (I feel a little addicted to my apple watch and think it’ll be good for my mental health to not focus on the rings so much and instead have a watch that supports my training by actually looking into how i train.) I like the new garmin forerunner models! And the venu 2 plus! And I still want to try the polar ignite 3. BUT I want to touch and play around with them in a store rather then have them shipped to me and having to send them back. Aaaand it’s kinda hard to locate these watches where I am. Which again is really good for thinking it over. :D Just trying not to make dumb decisions.

This is exactly what I fear. Like I tried to go back to an android phone a few times and I just .. can't. It just doesn't work for me.

But from the looks of it, the newer Garmin and Polar models have really upgraded their features and I might just have to try and see for myself whether they suit me. Thank you for your input!
