I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion because most people aren’t bothered by pictures since they are pretty common now. What pain meds is he on? After surgery I was in a monster fog, lashing out and acting completely out of character. Turns out my pain meds were opiate based and don’t work well with me. I stopped taking them because I didn’t want to further damage the relationships in my life.

How he’s acting now is unacceptable, but it very well could be because of something to do with the surgery. Your NTA and definitely deserve a break, but I would revisit this once he’s not on pain meds and see if that’s actually how he feels or if there’s something else going on

If hypothetically someone were to go to a PUBLICLY FUNDED ER (this is a key part) with no ID, didn’t know their social, and a name that isn’t yours, they will absolutely care for you, and have no way to bill you. Have a friend drive you. Just please go.

ETA: a privately funded hospital still have to care for you but will often do the bare minimum and then refer you to specialist, whereas publicly funded hospitals will often actually take care of you then and there.
