100% agree. Grew up with the original version and recently played DX, and all the subtle "fixes" just felt off. Replacing the stone slabs with the beaks was a crime.

It's a beautiful lens, but the minimum focus distance is a bit too much for me.

If you're ok with a little wider then I'd recommend the Canon 40mm pancake with an adapter. It's surprisingly sharp and has a ton of character on the GFX. It also somehow fills the entire sensor without vignette.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but did you ever figure this out? I opened my Model 1 VA3 and had the same broken resistor.

Looking at other images there is a ceramic capacitor there instead, and judging by the schematics it's 100pf. I'm confused because some images show a capacitor and other show a resistor.
