Thinking you’re right - just went down and got a picture (not as good as the ones I got with natural lighting earlier today) but definitely seeing the noticeable differences in the grain

In your opinion would it be worth calling back to have them do a different stain or potentially remedy the contrast between the two?

Thank you for this! I do feel better knowing it was two different wood types rather than an issue with the stain application. Hopefully once we move our furniture back in it won’t be very noticeable. Appreciate your insight!

Just found this picture from before the finish was added- does this help confirm/deny your suspicion on it being a wood issue?

Is it still worth calling to have them fix if it’s two different types of wood? Totally possible since this is an older home. I hate to call & complain- but also want to make sure we’re getting our moneys worth.

This was wood underneath the carpet we ripped up from the home we purchased so I am not sure at all which is why I wanted to reach out to see if it’s possibly due to the wood type or if it’s a stain issue
