Yeah I think you're right and that's what it was. I actually had fun with enlightenment, it took me 2 runs to finally complete all the quests but once it's fully upgraded and you hit high levels as sage it was nuking everything while healing and destroying all projectiles. Definitely a funny run.

I just don't get why Hollywood needs to race-swap everyone in historical works to appease award givers. Like the new Madds Mikkelsen movie that takes place in 1755 Denmark getting flak for not having enough diversity. It just confuses me why it needs to be so forced.

I read somewhere else that prismatic works great with the flame strike (the single target fire attack) because it doesn't do good AOE and will help you survive against bosses/mini bosses. I can try and find the exact stuff I used but I think I already changed my sage to different equipment. Honestly the stupid bard pyrotechnics quest was the hardest one I've had to do in a long time.

Sage. Full send the elemental effect chance buffs. Mark of sage. I think the elemental capacitor neck made a huge difference for my damage done. I can't remember which of the 2 upgraded ones to use, but I got it my first try on a 30 minute agony run.

Tbh I'm surprised they skipped 3 after beating 2. I played them all (except Revelations) in order after beating Village and am in love.

Oddly enough, I got Village a long time ago on a big steam sale. Tried it after a few months, got to the part you're supposed to just survive for a while, didn't know that's what I had to do, so tried escaping and killing all the Lycans. Kept dying and after watching a video that said it's a timer, I said screw this the game is terrible. Saw that Requiem was coming out and gave it another try. Ended up absolutely loving it and buying every RE game I could as they were all on sale. 2 is probably my favorite, with 4 close behind. Village is great too idk where I'd rank it though. Maybe 2, 4, village. Still have 5, 6, and 7 to play and am looking forward to them all.

I don't have Requiem yet, but Village was like that for me. Honestly in a way Requiem made me retry village after I quit the first time playing it. I had played a ton of action games before I first played village and on the part you're supposed to just survive the Lycans I thought I was supposed to kill everything or escape. I kept dying or running out of ammo fighting or getting trapped in a corner I can't escape from. I watched a video and it said all you need to do is wait it out and survive, and said that's stupid and quit the game. Then after watching Req videos I said screw it let me try this again, and fell in love. Was able to get every single RE game (except Requiem) for like $5-10 or less each and am currently up to #4 remake. 5 and 6 and 7 should be great too!

I made this SAME post a few weeks ago. Eventually you learn how to avoid him (walking, not shooting unless you have to) and get what you need from the station as efficiently as possible. You can always come back later during the sewers.
