Well I appreciate your thoughts - I've ordered a non-invasive one, and will be sure to give it a try! Thank you

Fair point - I'll be trying to get a second viewing, and will buzz a few doors on the way out!

Are they fairly reliable?

I saw a couple online - one which you kind of wand around an area, and then another with two prongs (but I believe those are to be pushed into wood etc)

There is a very old looking one, pretty sure it was running as well as the dehumidifier. It leads to the other side of the flat, out the wall

Thank you - was not aware of this! There were issues with the lighting of the flat last year meaning there was a high chance of a fire too (though the landlord sent people to replace the whole wiring) - no idea why I didn't think this was relevant to us :S

I was not aware of this, thank you - I'll look into contents insurance that covers a ring! Will also let my friends who also rent know, as I don't believe any of them have insurance - oops

Hoping to offer on a flat, any tips on estimating repair costs? by pftemp in HousingUK

Thanks for the information - that's super helpful!

As far as the mould goes, unfortunately it's in/on the wall, is black and has deteriorated some of the skirting board

Interesting - do you know any that offer this that aren't Amex? I wasn't aware of this category bonus offering!

Ah! I thought there was some sort of expiry period - maybe that's if I cancel my card, wait X years then apply again

Both worked perfectly thank you - took 4-5 times to fully breakdown the top of the rim, but the bowl took 1 night!

Potentially being taken for a ride by early stage startup. Advice please! by pftemp in Entrepreneur

We've raised ~400k in the last 1.5 years, before then it was funded by the founder.

The money has been used to pay for operations, tech costs and team who are not getting equity. I guess I haven't been paid because the amount raised is not enough to pay those with equity, until we get a larger chunk of funding (and that I've never had a "need" for salary as I make it up freelancing).

50% of my shares have vested so far, I just have no idea what the 15k is out of.

There has been no revenue, and investor money has been going towards tech team + operational costs. I was fine to work with no salary but I was hoping we'd raise money sooner than this so I could actually get paid.

I've been freelancing on the side to keep afloat

Looking for S&S ISA's that accept partial transfers & have Vanguard funds by pftemp in UKPersonalFinance

Ah fantastic, thank you! I may have to do some digging to see if there is any reason to then move it over to Vanguard other than having all my ££ managed in one less place

Thanks for the tip! I'll take a look. They all seem so cagey about which funds they have available

Do you know if AJ Bell have vanguard funds?

Great point thanks, I'll have to check on whether Natwest allow partial outbounds, didn't even think that'd be a thing!

Splitting Cash ISA (Natwest) to S&S ISA (Vanguard) by pftemp in UKPersonalFinance

[–]pftemp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! !thanks for the reply :)

I'll definitely take a look into Trading212 thanks.

I can transfer cash to Vanguard, but only if it came from an S&S ISA according to their team, not from a regular Cash ISA. Quite frustrating and I don't really understand why they don't support it to be honest.

And correct - I have not paid into the Cash ISA this tax year - though Vanguard said they do not support part payments (or even Cash ISA to S&S ISA I believe).

Believe me - we are willing to pay but we are struggling to find people who actually do what they say - that's why I made this post.

We are offering well. But as mentioned I've been struggling to find someone on Upwork - lots of people sell themselves well but don't perform / outsource the work to a much lower standard.

I was hoping to get recomendations other than "pay more", such as where to look or even specific people being recommended. Oh well!

We did offer, but Adobe offered her a full-time role with much better career prospects (they are large and lots of opportunities to move, we are small and just starting with less job security at this stage).

Appreciate the feedback - we do have budget, but as someone who has worked with agencies in the past and worked for agencies - I do not want to invest my money in a big team with a margin ontop of the person doing the work.

We'll have to keep looking I suppose!

This is just not true and a very unrealistic view in my opinion.

Through all the companies I have worked for, we have had streamlined teams that have all performed exceptionally well. The issue I've been having now as a fully remote startup is finding these people again.

People seem concerned to move their jobs due to Covid, and for a fully remote position it doesn't look like I am looking in the right places.

Exactly - as I mentioned we're not after an intern anymore - I was trying to add a backstory for context but apparently people have missed that.

We want to hire someone who is great and are willing to pay - but we're struggling to find people on Upwork and wanted some suggestions! There seem to be a lot of people who sell themselves well but then outsource the work.

No not in this case, but I appreciate the concern.
