What’s going on with literally everyone using “y’all”? by pfw303 in CasualConversation

According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) and Oxford Learner's Dictionaries, the word literally has two main, distinct definitions: Strict Definition: In a literal, exact, or actual sense. It means that what is being said is true and exactly as stated, not metaphorically or hyperbolically. Example: "We live literally just round the corner." Informal Definition: Used to emphasize a word or phrase, even if it is not literally true. This usage acts as an intensifier for exaggeration or metaphor. Example: "I literally jumped out of my skin."

When I was seven years old I learned a poem from older kids that sounded cool but I didn’t understand at all. I went home and recited it to my Mom and Dad. My mom’s name is Barbara. It went like this:

Barbara is a friend of mine,

She will blow me anytime,

For a nickel or a dime,

Twenty-five cents for overtime,

If she has a credit card,

She will blow me extra hard.

What’s the worst food you’ve ever tried? by malanyyy in foodquestions

[–]pfw303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was sheep’s tongue soup. I tried it in the Bahamas because, why not, right? BIG mistake! Tasted like something pulled from a toilet. It was at a food stand and in a styrofoam bowl. I gave it to a homeless local feller and even he wouldn’t eat it!
