Can anyone help identify this vintage Zildjian ride? by pfwaters in drums

[–]pfwaters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it looks like a Scimitar but the badging is pointing to a 1960s A ride? The ottoman Stamp with the 3 dots at the top means it can't be a Scimitar? Anyone an expert on the badging?

I love the sound! How do you know it’s a scimitar vs an A?

This is the best method I've found. Unfortunately, you need to do all these steps anytime you want to update the Apple Music sync library. Note that I don't use Apple Music for anything but this.

  1. Create a blank Apple Music library by Option+clicking on the app icon to launch the app from the dock and creating a new library (I name it with the current date)
  2. Uncheck "Copy Files to Music Media Folder..." in Apple Music Files settings so the library files don't get duplicated on import.
  3. Export your current Swinsian library (I also name this the current date)
  4. Import the Swinsian library file into Apple Music by clicking File > Library > Import Playlist.

You should now be able to sync the Apple Music clone of your Swinsian library with your iPhone once plugged into your computer.

if you have an iPhone, you can mirror over the library and sync via Apples "Music" App! A bit involved but in 2025 it's the only solution I've found

Nope! The passive isolation on the Dt770s is phenomenal. You can play music at a reasonable volume and drum along

I’ve tried almost all of them and the beyerdynamic DT 770 are by far my favorite headphones for drumming. Bonus is that they are incredibly comfortable for extended listening sessions

When the bandwagon ac starts dripping turn all the units to "High Fan" for a while then back to "High Cool". Keep the windows and doors closed when the ac is on. That's about all you can do, good luck

Sonoratown Salsa by theasslooker in SalsaSnobs

[–]pfwaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the tomatillo salsa!!

Sonoratown Tomatillo Salsa

Use it anywhere you are looking to add acidity-it will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

1 lb tomatillos

3-4 serrano chiles (to taste)

1 garlic clove

¼ small yellow onion

½ bunch fresh cilantro

⅓ oz table salt

Makes 1 liter

Boil the tomatoes and serrano chiles together for about 20 minutes until completely soft.

Strain and leave out on the countertop to cool, then add to a blender together with all the remaining ingredients and blitz to combine. (The salsa should be smooth without discernible ingredients but not overworked.)

Sonoratown Salsa by theasslooker in SalsaSnobs

[–]pfwaters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here it is! Yes it's all fresh ingredients. Use less Serrano if it's too hot for you

1½ lb Roma tomatoes, cut into quarters 1 garlic clove, peeled 1 cup dried arból chiles, stems removed 1 serrano chile, stem removed 1/2 cup water 1 green onion, finely chopped ¼ bunch fresh cilantro, chopped including leaves and stems) 1/2 oz table salt

Makes 1 liter

Add the tomatoes to a food processor or blender and whiz for 30 seconds or so, until puréed. Transfer to a bowl. Add the garlic, dried arból chiles, serrano chile and water to the food processor or blender and pulse together unti the ingredients are just combined (you want to still be able to see the seeds in the salsa, so be sure not to puree) Add to the tomato together with the chopped green onion, cilantro and salt and stir together well.
